You should get a group of people together and go out. Make sure that it is a mix of your friends and her friends so she doesn't feel out of place among all of your friends. If you have the same friends, that's even better! If you share any classes, you can study together at the library or in a public setting like a restaurant. If you don't have classes together, maybe she can help you with a class that you have now that maybe she had before. Listen to her when she talks. There may be opportunities to spend time with her without it being a date. If she mentions needing to get the oil on her car changed (if she has a car) you can offer to do it for her or to go with her to take it in (so she doesn't get overcharged or get talked into services she doesn't need, but be sure not to make her feel incompetent...offer to go as company so she isn't bored waiting). You could offer to walk her home from school/work. Just listen and you will find plenty of opportunities to spend time with her.

If all else fails, just be direct and tell her that you want to hang out with her. Tell her you like her company and that she is nice, fun, etc.

Most importantly, be honest with yourself and with her. Good luck!

Why not? A date is nothing serious, just fun.

Ask her to a movie and some food. See what happens!
