My doctor gave me Paxil CR 12.5 4 weeks ago. I have been on it since and am wondering if it is too weak a dosage to stay on permanently. I like it but I can see why it might be considered a too-weak solution.

Does anyone know if it is and if everyone is meant to move up to a higher mg once that starter amount has run its course?

Thanks.

Paxil CR 12.5 may be exactly what your system needs. If this is so, and the Paxil is being sent through your system as the day goes by (C.R,), then, you will probably stay at that dosage. My experience with Paxil CR is that doctors often start people off on too high a dosage, and then, modify it down. If all depends on how your body reacts to this dosage. It is possible, that in the future, you may need a higher dosage. It is always the best idea you take as little as you can get by on.

Often, due to the organtic nature of chemical imbalances, different dosages are required for different people. If 12.5mg works for you and continues to work for you, then it is fine. I'm sure your doctor has patients on that little and patients on much more. More important than the dosage is that you take it consistently at the same time(s) EVERY DAY.
