Kelsey, you did not give any information about yourself, male/female, age, height, and how many lbs. you are overweight. If you need to lose a considerable amount of weight, I would recommend that you consult your family Dr. You need to take into consideration your overall health. If you are on any medication for any problems: high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. Your Dr. needs to determine the proper course of action, to avoid any health risks. To lose weight, the common sense approach is, to eliminate, the "bad foods/beverages"; sugar, fats, high calorie products. "Healthy foods" need to be incorporated; fruits, vegetables, low fat, low sugar products, and drink 8-12(8oz) glasses of water a day. Exercise is a MUST, start off slow and gradually increase your exercise program, your stamina will increases and you will get stronger. You can start challenging yourself then to add a little more to your routine. The bottom line is to burn more calories than you take in. I can only give you some basic help here, so good luck, and lose weight the safe, and smart way.

You should look into your diet to see whether that's holding you back.
There are 10 things you should not eat:
1. Fried Foods That Are Frightening
2. Steakhouse Stories That Scare
3. Manufacturers Mislead Many
4. Burgers That Are Bigger and Biggest
5. Awful Appetisers
6. Cakes and Cookies That Are Calorie Clogged
7. Diet Drinks That Deceive
8. High Calorie Horrors
9. Diet Disasters When Dining Out
10. Super Sized Servings That Sabotage Your Diet

Your probaly still eating to many calories. I lost 100 pounds 8 years ago and have kept it off. Start counting how many calories your eating per day and then cut back some every few days until you see the scale move . Also increase you exercise more and more until you see results.

Try: For your weight and being male? I'd consume about 1500 calories per day ( you need more after you've reach desired weight). I'd increase exercise to about 1 hour a day- 7 days per week ( then maybe 6 days after your reach desired weight.) I would also recommend you purchase calorie counting book ( local book-stores) ( library has some too- free!) (I still buy my own - to take with you to restaurant, ect..) Pick foods that are large in volume and low in calories. Ya, you might not like the taste at first of some veg's, but how tired are you of being overweight?

Last- turn to your Higher Power ( I recommend God- the real one- Holy Bible,ect..) He loves you and wants to help- He wants you around for the grandbabies. Blessings from Texas and I will be praying for you!

Walking is a great cardiovascular exercise. The only way to lose weight is to eat proper food portions. You can eat anything but just eat the proper portion. Look on a box of macaroni and cheese mix, for example. It says 4 servings. I have eaten the entire box at one time and I know that is wrong. If you seriously watch your portions, keep walking and drink lots of water, you will eventually start loosing weight. Good luck.

It is great that you are walking daily, but you'll need to cut calories too to see results.
Check online to see what your weight should be for your height and what is your recommended daily caloric intake and stay within that range.

You may find it helpful to keep a food journal so that you can see exactly what and how much you are eating and when.

You could also check to see if there is a registered dietcian in your area that you could see. Some employers have programs that will pay for your first few visits (employee assistance programs).

Diet is a must. Also walking alone is just gonna burn a few calories you need to do some more exercises. Try some push ups and sit ups or at least stretching. You also have to stick to what you're doing and be patient. Results will be slow at first and then you'll see more progress.
