I found myself buying a strange looking hair trimmer the other day. I'm trying to grow my hair so rather cut off a minimal amount with this new product than the hairdresser cut off too much. The thing is that i'm a chicken - has anyone tried it and if so does it work well?

Hair trimmers are fine.
You have to have confidence to use them.
How for instance are you gonna trim your hair behind your head.
Unless you find the guts, do it.
Otherwise, I would leave the cutting to the experts.

What kind of hair trimmer is it? If you purchased the Flowbe, then it's going to cut off an inch or two of hair at each pass. The best bet is to go to your local Sally beauty supply store and purchase a "razoring kit". The scisors look like they have a comb on one side. You can then just snip off as little as 1/16th of an inch, just enough to keep the frizzies at bay.
