I used to have major cramps that would stop me from functioning so this is what I do when I see the first sign of blood I take 2 ibuprofen, then every 4 hours. I usually do this for the first 24 hours, you will be amazed how this works I had prescription pills that did not work, you will have a heavier period because of the blood thinning properties but it is well worth it to get rid of the pain. I remember when I was in high school I would have to come home, and later in life I would miss work because of the pain, now I know what to do and at least I can function, the idea is not to let the cramps even begin. and yes in some women and in my case my cramps actually felt the same as my labor pains.

Heat works wonders and also try massage on the stomach and you can look up shiatsu points on the body to help alleviate pain. I know its painful but exercise helps as well. I would also get a second opinion to rule out endometriosis.

They should not be so painful, and your doctor is wrong, obviously a male one at that, I would seek a second opinion. Something is definatly wrong, I'm sorry that your in this pain every month, it is dibilitating. I hope all works out, please take care.

Hot herbal decaffeinated tea, a couple of Ibuprofen and a nice hot heating pad. Coupled with 2 hours of rest and you should be good to go.
