First off make your ice in an blue ice cube bag, the type that once it is done you pull from the sides and it becomes a normal bag without separations. Sainsburys ones are like this, they have a polar bear at the top of the bag.
So make your ice, freeze it, then pull the bag so its a normal bag full of cubes, and then put the bag on a tea towel on the worktop and bash it with a wooden rolling pin. The good thing about using this type of bag and not a normal bag is that it is thicker, so withstands the bashing better, and its blue, so if any bits do get in your ice, if you bash the bag too much, you can see it!
Bashing in a tea towel the ice sticks to the towel and you get fuzzies in the ice, in a normal bag the bag breaks up and you get invisible bits of plastic in your ice.

I had the same problem when my blender broke so I put the ice cubes in a zip lock bag, 1/2 full, and wrapped it in a hand towel, hit it against the tile counter in my kitchen and VIOLA !! I had crushed ice! Repeated it until I had all I needed, works great!

Place the ice in a heavy duty black plastic sack. Take sack outside and find yourself a good ol' fashion house brick, begin to pelt the sack with the brick, repeat until all ice has been crushed or until you miss the sack and cause severe damage to the neighbours fence:)
This system has worked for me on many occasions, however a word of warning it's probably not the best method to use especially if your neighbour has pets.

Put some ice in a zip lock bag then wrap it with a dish towel. Then take something like a hammer, meat pounder, or even a shoe and hit the dish rag (while you hold one end of it so it dosent' fly away), and keep hitting it till you get a consistency you like.

the easiest and messy less way to do this, is place cubes in a metal saucepan with the lid on, hold lid on pan firmly and shake vigorously until the ice is crushed...works for me every time as I like the ice to be chunky crushed & a blender takes it too far

Either use an old-fashioned hand crank ice chrusher or put in a ziplock bag, cover with a towel and use a meat tenderizer hammer.

place in bag - take hammer and demolish
place in bag - go hit a brick wall with it
place in bag - take to neighbors house and use their blender or ice crusher?
Break down and go to Goodwill and look in appliances- they always have one or two ice crushers... cost ya 2-3 bucks tops.
GOOD LUCK
