tomcat that sounds to me like someone was very afraid that people just might find a mind of their own and discover the man behind the curtain!

thank you "master" for clearing that last part up. if more christians would look into paganism they would realize how peaceful and respectful of nature we are : )

and since most of you don't realize, satan is a christian creation, not a pagan one. satan didn't exist until the christian church invented him to scare people into believing in god. so wiccans/witches are anything but satanic!

Exactly. One of the bigger hypocritical things I've seen come from Religion. Prophecying, when a Christian does it, is from God.... but if someone who is not a Christian does it, we're Satanic. Numerology is considered witchcraft.... yet, they don't have a problem adding up the #'s for people's names to try to find the man spoken of in Revelation. Astrology is "witchcraft" to them.... yet, Genesis states the stars are there for these typs of things. And the Magi who visited baby Jesus? What do they think those men were doing following a STAR? It's all over the Bible, but according to the Christian Religion, that's ok, so long as you Claim to be a Christian.

Silliest thing I've ever heard. Especially when the Bible specifically states "God is not a respector of people"... I highly doubt their God is going to "respect" them just because they call themselves Christians.

Hallelujah! I guess since all of my spells reult in good things they must be miracles!! Well, that is the definition given by at least one of those who answered isn't it?
Yeah, it is considered a sin by the vast majority of Christians, but it makes me wonder...
When a doctor gives you medicine to cure your ill is that any different the if I gave you herbs that did the same thing? That is a part of my "magick". So aren't the doctors sinners? They do practice under the Caduces, you know that funny looking symbol? It is actually a PAGAN symbol meaning wisdom and knowledge, snakes entwined on a staff! Is it a miracle if the doctor makes you cancer go away with drugs and radiation?
Just where do you draw the line anyway?

No. And to all you ignorant so noted as Christians, no longer all magic is witchcraft. and not all Christians have faith magic to be a sin. there are a number of sects, that renowned that Solomon replaced right into a magician, Jesus replaced into ordained and of the line of Melchizedek (the administrative of Magic in some traditions and the being that ordained Abram). Magi gave presents to Jesus. i might rather opt for to sparkling up that all and sundry Christians think of magic is evil. Its in basic terms the wing nut fundies that have faith so as that don't even recognize their bible or the historic previous or way of existence of the people who that's approximately. They bypass off spouting Bible verse devoid of even understanding any of the information or historic previous or archeology at the back of it. the generic public of clergymen in Biblical circumstances have been magi. numerous the previous testomony (the Priestly writers) have been wager what, Magi interior the temple of Solomon. every time you pray, you're doing magic. Theurology is merely that. So all you Christians that pray to God and actual think of it is going to influence any replace could desire to quit doing so, reason wager what that's MAGIC! And in case you knew something approximately magic, you are going to recognize its one in all those prayer to a particular Deity or angelic being. (that's that if its extreme magic and that i'm unlikely to remark on the different sort reason which will merely open up an entire different can of worms). remember all you so noted as Christians, choose no longer lest ye be judged.

I'm fascinated by numerology. I strongly believe that numbers reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie.

I have to agree with Kithy. Staves turning into snakes, converting water to wine, raising the dead, casting out demons, and flying horses--Jews, Christians, and Muslims avoid calling these instances of magic, but that's precisely what they are, plain as day, just the same as wish-granting jinn and flying carpets from the Arabian Nights. Even so, pagan magic has nothing to do with Satan--that's an Abrahamic religious concept.

I hope you take this in the nature it's intended, which is with the utmost respect. I used to be Wiccan, so I do understand it.

However, I'm now a Christian, so my answer doesn't come from "me" but from my interpretation of the Bible. The Bible is very clear that witchcraft is wrong. Jesus also says that whoever is not for Him is against Him.

This means that whether you believe in Satan or not, your power is not coming from God, therefore by process of elimination, it is coming from Satan. This is according to Christianity.

Jesus never did "magic." Everything He did was done by the power of God.

I don't believe Wiccans or pagans are bad people. I KNOW you guys respect the Earth, other people, and each other. I just believe that Wiccans and pagans are misguided.

And I would not be telling you this, if you had not asked the question.

Edit: Four thumbs down? Geez. The question was asked, and I answered it. Sorry if some people don't like the answer.

Your spells and your magic is all done outside the will and power of Christ, and more through the will and power of fallen creation. The gods you worship are part of the natural creation. We Christians see that as inferior to the God we worship who is the author of all nature.. If you haven't noticed not once did I call your religion Satanic. It is that at all it's a very old religion based on the natural world that ancient barbarian tribes could see around them.. God is so much more than that. Come ask Jesus to show you the Life He offers through faith in Him. Reach out take His hand and see creation as His will and His work will bring you. You can still love and be one with nature but one with Him as well. He will turn your spells to prayer and I believe you can become a MIGHTY Prayer Warrior... Jim

First, witches do believe in God. Then you have to ask... who thinks it is a sin? If it is a professed christian then they are judging and according to their own mythology that is not allowed. Go your own way....... follow your heart and you will find truth.

i can't take witches, wiccan anymore seriously than reading my horoscope or avoidng the #13..

Hmm... Sinful, eh? You want to return to the good ole days when those suspected of gaining knowledge outside of your god were burned and stoned, no doubt. (btw: the book of leviticus calls not for the burning but the stoning of one who is thought to speak w spirits--ie a necromancer, sorcerer or medium--one who achieves knowledge and power from the lord god of israel.)

stoned or burned alive. wonder which those damning them would prefer... *shudder*

"If you don't belong to God, you belong to Satan." Who's god?

in your hell I would find myself in lovely company. to meet mark twain! wow

Though the typical relish fundies take in imagining eternal torture for those who don't believe is sadistic in the most perverted way--like when people attended public hangings in great excitement.

Jesus performed miracles, not magic. There is a big difference. According to the Bible, witchcraft is a sin. Suggesting that Jesus used magic is pure blasphemy.
