Because they have changed the law....at the end of the Day, if idiots cannot keep themselves away from the place and away from parting with their cash, then they will get all they deserve. Its a free country and why shouldn't those who can control themselves properly be allowed to gamble when they like.
The UK is far too silly in pandering to the nannyfication of things, this is a classic example, can't allow a super casino cos the gamblers will be in there and will loose their money and the families will go without, so what, That's the way of the world, if grown adults cannot exercise self control, then so be it
If poeple go there, thats their choice, the UK is forever going on about having freedoms, where's the freedom for gamblers who chose that lifestyle?
Far too much wallying around, let them open, the casino's will bring employment and revenue as well as revitalisation of urban areas, don't see them in Monte Carlo kicking off do you??

coz it's this nu-labour mobs' idea 4 plugging the gaps in the economy.
they've been told crime will increase, addictions will increase let alone it's against the principles of a Christian country.
is the UK a Christian country anymore?
coz if they want gambling, i guess not!

but i don't think they really care.
air-travel is going 2 decrease when the green taxes r added.
less cars on the road when road-pricing comes in.
smoking will b banned in Public & that's set 2 effect alcohol consumption in Pubs/bars etc.
they're trying 2 plug BIG GAPS in funding with Gambling.

i think it's disgusting 2.
especially when u find out the front runner 4 the first casino was sure 2 B Blackpool
but they didn't get it & it went 2 Manchester, which the Odds 4 were at 16-2-1
some1 MADE A NICE LITTLE EARNER in that Government Department, didn't they?

i'm against Gambling, part of the Dumbing Down of a failing Society
& yes i think it will end in tears.

Interesting they choose to build it in Gangchester

Whatever its easily money before morals

The justification is hard to support,
"Hey I believe everyone has the more convenient right to ruin their lives and the lives of those around them"

You people obviously have no experience in just how much damage this sort of thing can do to ordinary peoples lives

They should have given it to Blackpool.......that place is the pits now and could do with a bit of cash injection and extra jobs. I live just outside Manchester and agree about the levels of crime something like this is going to increase......scary.......

Don't ask me, from the news it would seem that the place has enough troubles with gun violence, but if it is about money anything goes and hard lines to anyone who doesn't like it or worse,is affected by it, they will probably set up a helpline!!!!!

Tax..Tax..and more Tax..
All this government has done over the past ten years...apart from destroying our country.. is tax everyone more and often.
So, the casino will be just one big revenue collector ..and to hell with the damage it will cause to our society.
..And Cameron wants to add to that burden of taxation..!!!
UKIP...Here I come.

And why not? No doubt a supercasino will bring in lots of revenue and i can't see any reason why they should not advertise.
