I don't think people in general go to charity balls and functions to help the little guy, rather they do it to give themselves a tax write-off and perhaps help their political cause while getting recognition as being a "charitable" person.

The function of the Charity groups is for the possible help for the poor people and it is the rich who will give charity to the poor because as a reach man, you have the means. and that is the meaning of charity.
Charity is s an aid or help for the poor families

If it is a bad charity that doesn't give the money to that charity, then why go the ball? There is no purpose but I think most people believe that the ball does donate money. We need to see what percent of donations are given away and then give to the best charities. Whatever happened to those pie charts that charities used to give out?

Why do some bigoted "christians" think that preaching anti-LGBT hatred and prejudice is being in any way like Jesus?

People are often hypocrites. You probably know some.

Before I attend or give money to any charity, I check the amount that goes to adminstration and salaries, like most smart people. This certainly beats opinionated whining about such things without any facts.
