what is the best foundation type to use in firm brown and light grey sandy clay soil? i can choose fromstip, raft, pile and pad and why would is be best?

You need to provide a lot more information. If you were to pile the foundations, what depth is bedrock and what is it? Do you have any SPT data? What is the Geological sequence and thicknesses - borehole logs? Sandy clay soil would indicate the potential for differential settlement between sandy areas and clay areas.

Need More information but will prefer pile foundation for sure.

i would say pile and pad (case pile) possibly so when the ground dries out it allows for movement in the ground without disturbing piles
