My boyfriend (23 as of yesterday) and I (20) have have been living together for about a year now. I love him very much and love living with him. I just love being able to see him everyday. Well, last night as he was talking to a friend on the phone, she asked what living with a significant other was like as she was thinking about inviting her boyfriend to live with her. He said "well, it's ok. At first when Kristin (me) moved in it was like 'this is great!', and then after a while it was like 'get away from me!', and now we just make it work somehow...". I had been browsing on the computer but when he said this I turned and gave him a look. Does he think I'm a hard person to live with? Because I don't think "get away from me" when he comes around or anything like that. I love being around him! Sure there will be times when we get on each other's nerves but that's natural. His comment really hurt my feelings and kept me up all night. Should I confront him about it?

Also, I do work around the house. I cook everyday, I wash dishes every other day, I both of our laundry every Sunday. So it's not like I'm just lazy or anything like that. Sure, it's not squeaky clean, we both work full-time jobs.

I do try to get him to help with the housework but he says since he works at the railroad and does manual labor for 8 hours a day and I have a nice, cozy desk job that he's constantly tired.

I would be hurt to! Not mad but hurt, especially if know's you heard what he said i'd have confronted him as soon as he hung up! He need's to explain maybe it just came out the wrong way (that can happen) But he need's to know it hurt you so that if it was a slip of the tongue he will know and not do it again . on the other hand hopefully he wasn't saying that to another girl, like trying to test the water to see if she was interested in him. Anyway if it's the 1st time he hurt you that way I would give him the benefit og the dought as long as when you talk to him he has remorse and care's about your feeling's ! But if this is something he does often THAT IS A RED FLAG!

GOOD LUCK SWEETY

It sounds more like you're in a rut. Forget the housework for a day, and seduce him. Get him to help with the housework. What made him fall for you in the first place, I'll bet it wasn't your cooking.
