In my opinion, there is evidence of God, through many little miracles that we see everyday amongst other things, there is also hard scientific evidence of evolution, so I guess my real question is : "Why is it not possible to believe that God creted us through a process of evolution?" Is this not the most logical explanation?

Gary: What do you mean real science? If we accept science at all we have to accept all science!

That is the most logical explanation and it is what I have personally believed for most of my life. The way I put it is this:
God created all life in the beginning (Creation), then through a series of "adjustments" of the course of time (Evolution) has made us as we are today.

There are two major evidences that I am aware of:
1. Time: There isn't enough time for the small rodent like mammals left after the last extinguishing event to bring them to the size and variety of the mammals the roamed the earth during the last major ice age.
2. Viruses have been known to man for approximately the last 200 years. During that time there have been billions of generations, yet never has a virus jumped species. Yes the have varied but they remain viruses..
The idea of evolution just doesn't ring true... Jim

It is possible to believe that God created life on this planet through a process of evolution. The real question is, "what constitutes God." , not whether the evolutionary process was or was not the process of life's development set in motion by the Divine Force in the Universe.

Gary is deliberately confusing the differing hypothesies of how evolution works w/ the agreement among scientists on evolution
Arguing against evolution is as silly as arguing that the earth is flat.
Neither sophistry nor dogma serves his case, and he and others like him who reject science do a grave diservice to their religion.
Why not take the view that your god set evolution going w/ the purpose of bringing about the existence of humankind? It's infinitely more intteresting than a story of a woman and a snake taken literally.

I agree with you.
As an engineer, the highest achievement for me is to build something that will be autonomous. I begin it, let it go, and it does its thing. I can imagine for a deity, that to simply set something in motion, and watch it grow would be a similar event. To necessarily intervene in every step would seem to me less of an achievement.
As an engineer, I can intervene when something goes wrong, but a perfect achievement would require no intervention. If deity is a perfect builder, why would constant meddling be necessary?

We do not see little miracles everyday. A miracle is something supernatural. That means it isn't natural, it couldn't happen by any natural process. Turning water into wine would be a miracle because it's physically impossible. Do you see many impossible things everyday?

Evolution is actually an illusion created by materialism, the belief that the cosmos is an absolute and that science is truth (both are unprovable beliefs).
If you believe that science is truth and/or the cosmos is an absolute then you have already ASSUMED evolution. This is why evolution is accepted as fact even though it does not adhere to the scientific method (direct observation and experiment).
Science is an attempt to define the cosmos in terms of itself. Science is conditional truth, not truth, and is incapable of answering the question of origins.

The God Described in the Bible did not do it that way, so you must be thinking of some other God. Or just making one up for yourself.
Evolution is fact.
Religion is lies confounded by misconceptions, compounded by delusion, multiplied by ignorance.
