ask him which patients he remembers most vividly. some doctors remember the interesting diseases/diagnoses. others remember the interesting people. some of the doctors kind of go overboard getting to know their patients on an almost social level and they can tell you fascinating details about their patients' lives.

Using the knowledge you have studied, ask any
serious question that you might have to better understand the illness, or treatment being given.
Note normal length of illnesses, and recovery times. Ask if other treatments are ever used for
the illness, and why? Broken bones? Ask how many x-rays would be safe for the patient to endure during a hospital stay. (Lengthy stays such as traction in multi broken bones.) Then look it up and study. This will help you focus when becoming an intern.
How he personally vents his stress, any extra courses that might help you prepare to be the best in 2 or 3 medical fields to select the one best
suited for you.
