Imagine a man walking around and saying that a ghost visited him and is now constantly talking to him and is guided by him.
Wouldn't that man be considered a lunatic?
Then how is any other religious person not a lunatic?
For an example, Muslims and Christians both experience their God somehow. Which means that one of them is wrong.
Therefore, one of them is completely insane.
Of course, that's not considering african pagans who talk to their Gods, or Jehovas that believe Christ came back to Earth.
So, why aren't religious people considered lunatics, and why aren't they treated with shock therapy like any other person who "experiences" superstitious happenings.

i'm an Atheist or maybe i think of your question is a sprint impolite, faith is different from having a psychological ailment, I somewhat have medical melancholy, i take meds and do medical care. 70 years in the past they might have locked me up in a nut domicile and thrown away the significant (i do no longer hear voices or see issues that are actually not there). the element is faith it self isn't the venture however the way the folk who stick to it interpret it, and how some use it to there very own ends to create strife and conflict for different communities of persons who they dislike, some people who're basically particularly religious are in certainty maximum in all probability stricken by an untreated paranoia or schizophrenic sickness and have an interest in the belief of an outdoors deity which will help them, those human beings at the same time as performing loathsome are somewhat very unwell people who might desire to be taken care of medically, that's no longer approximately achieving outdoors to repair ones issues yet to attain interior and handle the condition with drugs and psychotherapy.

"Jehovah" is the personal name of Almighty God, the Sovereign of the Universe, the Creator. "Jehovah" translates the Hebrew Tetragrammaton into English, and is to be used with reverence and respect.

It is a terrible insult and blasphemy against God to misuse the personal name of the Almighty as a reference to any human. An adherent among Jehovah's Witnesses is most certainly not "a Jehovah" but rather is "a Witness".

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

Sadly, such disrespect for the Heavenly Father and hatred for His people should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Jews,Christians and Muslims believe in same GOD.
It is because of religion people don't kill people or hurt the orphans etc.
It is because of lack of religion people do bad thing.

Furthermore religion is not the reason for the cause of war. The reasons are Injustice, and greed.
See world war two, people of same faith were fighting each other and that was the deadliest war in the past century.
African Americans had to fight for justice in the last century. It was in the 20th century we realized that red-indians had nothing to fight with..... Just look at the history of romans, Persians, Europe, Asia, and all those civil wars ..... I believe the only people who fought to some extent for religion and not for greed are the Muslims (or may be the Jews of old times but they eventually started fighting amongst them selves when they became strong).

"Muslims and Christians both experience their God somehow. Which means that one of them is wrong."

Why do you assume this? They could all experience God...for there is only one God. A God that will wear multiple masks - depending on how you want to related to God.

For the extremely intellectual (emotionally barren) - the idea of love is crazy. If they were in power, anyone claiming to be in love would be crazy to them. If you experienced it...you know it is real.

By a good portion of the public, they are considered crazy, or at least damaged.

Legally, not yet. However, people who claim to be Jesus, or some other such religious figure, tend to end up in wards.

Ever been in a psychiatric ward? People in there claim to be Jesus all the time.

Some religious people are considered crazy. Religious or not we are all subject to physical and mental illness. People who have such experiences due to a mental disorder are not given shock therapy as long as they pose no danger to themselves or others.

And yes, there are people who have delusions of grandeur who think they are Jesus, various presidents of the US, Napoleon etc.

Deciding who's crazy is done by consensus, and they've got you outnumbered.

People believe illogical things because their brains have evolved that way. Religion tells people to follow leaders and watch parking meters. People who behave that way have more surviving children than clear-thinking folk like yourself. Don't blame me for this situation. Darwin did it.

In Western Culture we don't consider people lunatics unless their beliefs are different than a majority *and* their beliefs affect their ability to cope.

Maybe the people that label people as "lunitics" are actually insane religious people themselves!

Do crazy people think other crazy people are crazy?

Do Christians think other Christians are crazy?
