The Downs Link from Shoreham to Guildford is easy for kids.
We are doing a section of it this weekend with the kids aged 11 and 5. The 5 year old will be on a tag a long.
For harder rides start at Devils Dyke and head for Worthing, if really adventurous down to Fulking.
That is just a couple of our favourites.

There are quite a few but I know there are some issues with the ashdown Forrest, You could look at the south downs way and 7 sisters park down on the cost, If you are nr crawley (west sussex) you have tilgate park there is a track for some off roading also if you pop into kent there is some nr t,wells

yes the a rote i to tack aroud caterham 5-7 ms if you like if you IM me tell you the route
