Go to your GP, they should be understanding. You may need a short course of anti-depressants.
Try and cheer up a bit, I know how hard it is sometimes, look outside at the sunshine, go for a little walk. Feed the squirrels and pigeons. These are things I do to try and remain positive.
Good Luck!

Hello,
I think that anti-depressants can work you out of these feelings. You will probably deny yourself that you need or want anti-depressant drugs but I know loads of people who take them and they will help and no one has to know right? Why not try them? If your doctor says they are the right way to go then why not for a while? Better check you're not pregnant first though. If you really not want to go the doctor then you can go to a herbal shop. The shop assistants will speak to hundred's of people every day and so don't be scared to talk to them and ask if they have a remedie. You won't have to talk to them again if you don't want to. I've heard that St. John's Wart is good if you're feeling low and for hormone imbalance you could ask about Saw Palmetto which is a completely natural vegetable source hormone thing - I saw it on the tv. Good Luck and as you see from all your responses you are definately not alone! Everyone feels the same sometimes - you are just brave enough to admit it!

I am just the same you with feeling down most of the time and worrying that people are talking about me and staring at me for the wrong reasons. My friend told me it could be because it's winter which can make people feel depressed!! My advise to you would be to do something different to have a change from your normal routine, i.e Take a holiday or start a hobbie. I am 25 and have decided on going back to college and study something ive always wanted but was too afraid to do which has helped me become more positive.
If you start feeling down more and more then talk to someone close to you.
Try not to worry about what other people think of you which can be hard (I know). You are probably getting paronoid for no reason.
Also go and see the doctors about your periods as that could be whats causing the problem.
Good luck and take care of yourself.

boo - I can tell you that what you are experiencing is completely normal. I was just talking to my friend today about the same thing saying that is how I felt and she is thinking the same thing too! - Perhaps it is the time of year. Don't worry about your memory, I forget everything and I am not joking either - problem is when you feel down, you lose concentration and motivation and it is easy to forget things. I would ask your GP for a routine full blood test and obviously, see what your hormone test says. In the meantime, try to think positively - you will come out of this. It sounds like you are becoming anxious and that is probably the reason why you are thinking that people are talking about you and looking at you - the aren't, it is just taht you feel low so are thinking the worst. Look after yourself and relax. Please don't ask for antidepressents or anything like that - I have thought about it myself at times but you don't want to take anything that plays with your mind. x

Don't worry what everyone thinks, just do whatever makes you happy. Everyone gets down at some time. Try and get out and about more, being with other people, friends, family etc. If you're on your own there's more time to worry and think of things that seem worse than they are!! I'm very forgetful myself! Periods can be late with stress too so it's like a circle for you at the moment. Try and relax. Best wishes xx

Is there anything else that causes you stress at the moment? Maybe work or private life? I am like this a lot and a first Prozac helped me, but now it is useless to me, as i slef-harmed and tried to hang myself last night. Please don't let it get that far, speak to your doctor and a counsellor to see what the reasons are for your distress. Maybe making a mood diary might be a good idea, that way you could identify any patterns in your life that are stressing, etc.
I hope you get better soon, listen to your body and your feelings, don't end up like I did. Lots of luck!

We all feel like this at times but it seems that your low mood is extreme, do your best to try to think in a positive way, going for a long walk helps me. Sounds like you are doing the right thing and it may just be a hormone in balance, either way keep your chin up.

You should tell your doctor the symtoms you are having. To me, you sound like you may be depressed. The high and lows you talk about may actually be a bi-polar disorder. Which neither one is your fault. It is a chemical imbalance in your brain. There is medication that can help you. Prayer is good as a poster has stated, and be thankful that she is praying for you, but it may not be enough for you at this time. good luck to you It is a good sign that you are asking, means you are ready to tackle whatever it is you need to make yourself better.....
