Well, I guess you couldn't really without sounding like a complete idiot. Unless they had a religion which was similar. I mean, large groups of people worshiping an invisible entity reading from a book written a couple of thousand years ago? If you were an alien with no concept of religion, wouldn't you be a little freaked out by this?

I suspect that belief in a higher intelligence or being is a universal constant, barring political interference. The intricacies of individual religions are really unimportant for the most part.

When I moved to America I found somewhat intelligent human beings. I tried to break the language barrier.
Many of them didn't know that English people spoke English.
Florida is a strange place.

Probably with a musical play tailored to the aliens' psychology. You'd have to study them for a while first, to see how they react (and infer how they feel) from watching behavior in other beings. When you think you know how to make them feel that Christian cheery-teary "I want a big brother named Jesus" type feeling, you start your performance and keep it up until you have the aliens' rational faculties broken down in favor of warm-and-fuzziness. Then you start telling them the sin-and-the-Savior story, being sure to lay on them a heavy guilt trip for not being perfect like Jesus is. When they're all crying, or whatever it is aliens do, you pass around the collection plate and take their money, then you "convert" them to "save their souls" (meaning you extract from them a pledge to keep on giving you their money).
Be careful with communion, though. If you're too explicit with describing the purpose of it, the aliens might start grabbing humans and gobbling them up in order to get closer to Jesus through a more realistic Eucharistic flavor. Human Christians wouldn't really want the aliens to get the idea that they're offering to be the food that will absolve the aliens of their sins when they eat it.
Or would they? Christian missionaries in Africa were sometimes eaten by the cannibals whose souls they came to save. (That's not just a cartoon funny: it really did happen.) And Christians, even if they are otherwise conservatives, are usually in favor of race-mixing because "Jesus died for everybody," which usually results in Christians being dispossessed of their countries, their property, and their lives when immigrant savages, reverting to their natural behavior, drive them off or kill them. So maybe Christians would not mind being eaten by aliens from outer space, after all.

You don't.
I mean I've had people coming to my front door trying to do just that very thing for years, and so far none of them have been able to do it without sounding like an idiot.

I would find out about their religion, and then explain mine to them; I would point out where they converge and discuss the importance of differences. along the lines of St Paul at the

I would ask them their views on the origin of the universe, and what they have been able to determine. Likely they will be in the same boat as us though.
