Why should we?
It had been already modified by nearly all religious high-standing figures to suit their needs.
The Bible that we now hold has been rewritten and edited a thousand times.
The Gospel of Judas has been cut out and is now ignored by all churches.
What else is there to change?

Whether you want it that way or not, all "gods" are modified through time. For example, the god of the Christians doesn't seem to call for "auto de fes" anymore - where you could torture and kill intransigent "non-believers." (This was also known as the period of the "Holy Inquisition.")
Using selected texts for backing - and obviously ignoring others that seem to contradict it - Christians (and Jews) have been gradually de-emphasizing the more barbarous aspects of their god. So, for example, the horrors described as "law" in Deuteronomy and other texts are by and large ignored - and with good reason.
The Christians get a little more wiggle-room because aside from his statements about NOT changing the laws of the Jews, Jesus' other statements modify this posture. (This is supposing those writers, whose identity is still in doubt, actually had a clue as to what Jesus was talking about.)
So .. not to worry, even as we speak, the many countervailing (and plainly contradictory) aspects of "gods" are continually getting reconciled with human reality - and so far humanity is winning. I can't remember the last time we have a public stoning for violating the Sabbath, or for adultery. Of course there are pockets of zealotry where I suspect it would be wise for ladies to buy helmets - just in case.

How can man modify God? Has the created exceeded the Creator? God is sufficient for all needs for all times. He is perfect and needs no correction nor modification, as if we were capable of accomplishing it anyway.

If you think god can be modified, you are an atheist without realising it.
I reckon that on the evening news he would be worth even more than Anna Nicole Slut, which is saying a lot.

I don't think that we need to modify god we just need more people to believe in morals and we should live our lives as though there a consequences for our actions. Kids just need more guidance in their lives. Parents are forced to work to afford to live and no one knows what is going on in their own home..

Read the first 3 chapters of Genesis...mankind through demonic influence tried to modify God and His laws by wanting to be like him and look at what it got us, sin, separation from God, etc. etc.

General religious beliefs have been adapted throughout history to fit in with scientific discovery. Religious leaders claimed the earth was the centre of everything but were proved wrong by Galileo. Darwin's theory makes nonsense of the biblical story of creation.
The more me understand the more we realise that religious beliefs are founded on very unsteady doctrines.

You are perfectly right. I will modify, you will modify, but the problem is "who will modify the concept of others ?".

"god" has always been modified to the needs of the time...a simple check through history will verify this. nothing has changed in that regard.
