NOTE: Internet Explorer is BROKEN on my Windows XP machine. It will not REINSTALL because the reinstall is an older version and the install process stops. So, I use Mozilla Firefox for internet browsing - it works, it's great, la la la. But how do I get Bill Gates wonderful improvements to the OS? Is there a way to manually download UPDATES using MOZILLA? PLEASE, lay out the process if you can.

You can use automatic updates, or find downloads here

There is a plug in, but I have never tried it, use at your own risk

You shouldnt have any problem downloading IE 7 from this link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9ae91ebe-3385-447c-8a30-081805b2f90b&displaylang=en

If you have windows xp sp2 that is.

The other thing you can do if IE was broken but worked recently and you have automatic restores turned on. go to:
c:\windows\system32\restore\ and run program rstrui.exe

choose restore from earlier time and you will be able to roll back software settings that might have messed up your browser. This restore feature will not mess up personal data like pictures, files etc. It only rolls back device settings and programs that might have been installed.

that's no longer inevitably Microsoft "letting" Firefox, as lots because of the fact the Mozilla human beings "programming" Firefox. The Mozilla human beings desperate to no longer help Microsoft's energetic Server website technologies, and Microsoft desperate to place in writing their internet pages making use of it. "East is East and West is West, and not in any respect the twain shall meet." desire that enables.
