The Holy Spirit sent by Christ endows different people with different gifts, and if you are a shy person, you will be a great witness to shy people once you open up. At least you are not egotistical and have a holier than thou attitude, be thankful for that. The Holy Spirit will use you in areas where you never thought possible my friend, so be happy and content and WAIT on The Spirit to guide you, BUT remember some of the work you must do yourself. EX: God will supply the Bricks and Mortar to build the House, BUT YOU have to do the work.

Continuing to look to just one thing when it is almost certainly a combination of factors is the reason. Lose this black-and-white thinking attitude, since it is very harmful to you.
"People have a hard time letting go of their suffering - out of fear of the unknown they prefer a suffering that is familiar." - Thich Nhat Hanh

We are not all called to be intellectuals and have talent. Most of us are just average and there is nothing wrong with that.
