Quite an irony,
Japan is more prosperous than any Christian nation out there.
How come?

Full verse :
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, or sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; is leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3

To *Brown :
Exactly what is more important than material needs? It's just that I always find Christians saying this phrase, but they never actually say what exactly is important.
Is it love? Dedication? Honesty?
Then Japan again wins, cause it has one of the lowest crime rate in the whole world.

Might want to say the WHOLE verse in context this time......

This is what happens when people pick & choose bits and pieces of scripture for their own pleasure.....it ends up sounding like a lie.

Japan is not more prosperous than any Christian nation out there, it is the only Asian country in the G7, all the other nations in the G7 are founded upon Christian sentiments and ideals. The prosperity that Japan has at the moment is based upon copying western business practice and there are hugh disparities of wealth distribution in Japan, prosperity is not as widespread through Japanese society as it is in the western societies. You should perhaps reconsider Your statement/question, it's incorrect as well as taken out of context.

prosperity isn't always money. You can be broke but be prosperous in God's eyes. If you're obedient and doing the Will of the Father you're prosperous. So when you start living a life that lines up to God standards, you'll experience things that will blow your mind. That's what the means. Stop trying to get understanding through the Word of God without the Holy Spirit. You'll nevewr hear God in your flesh.

It wasn't referring to a certain Christian nation or a group of people. Its' referring to each individual person who puts there trust in God and listens to his word.

If you follow God's commandments on a personal level, then whatever you do, will prosper. And you will be remembered by God for your good works.

Prosperity in the material sense does not come from God. There are much more things to life than being materially prosperous.

Interesting observation!

God is not talking to a christian nation, he is talking to his people and the prosperity he is referring to is not monetary! Besides, we are yet to see the richest person more that Solomon and also the wisest.

For God said to him. "Behold, I have done as you asked. I have given you a wise, discerning mind, so that no one before you was your equal, nor shall any arise after you equal to you. I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among men equal to you all your days."

Ditto Primoa and Terry. I've been to Israel, it's SO GREEN. Not what you think of or see on TV.

It's all about how you define prosperity. If you define prosperity as how much money you have, then sure. I define prosperity as how happy I am with my life, and successful I am at making goals for myself and meeting them.

Yeh couldn't agree more with Prima, if you just choose certain parts you can say anything about them. Read it in context and you will understand it properly. Next question!
