Absolutely not !! Gays being unable to serve "openly" is the LAW OF THE LAND since President William Jefferson Clinton. Any and ALL homosexual acts are prohibited under the UCMJ.

General Pace was asked HIS personal opinion in the interview in question, and though technically as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs he always speaks for the military, but that still works.

First, the definition of immoral: "Contrary to established moral principles."

So in accordance with US and Military LAW, homosexual acts would BE immoral as well as illegal.

I served for 15 years, and knew of 4 closeted gays, and also worked with the imfamous "AW1 Keith Meinhold"... Keith was a great guy and outstanding technician/operator.

Sadly, when Clinton promised gays could serve, Keith came "screaming out of the closet", and was discharged, reinstated and discharged again. His new personna as "gay-poster-boy" was COMPLETELY incompatible with "good order and discipline".

Even IF General Pace's statement had to do with religious conviction / training... it's within his rights to feel that way.

Hell no! This is a non-issue, and those self-righteous people who are wailing and rending their garments over this should be ashamed of their childishness and stupidity.

Even generals are allowed to have, and express, personal beliefs. The fact is, that he's not saying anything terrible or insulting, he's simply stating that he believes homosexuality to be immoral. It is a sin per most religions, so calling it immoral is nothing more than professing one's religious beliefs.

It is sad that so many losers are unable to accept that people have views they may not like. It does not make them intolerant, hateful, mean, judgemental, etc.

People need to grow up and get over themselves.

The Man was asked His Personal Opinion, he gave it, End of Story

Absolutely not. He prefaced his comment with "I believe...". That is his belief and he has the right to have any beliefs he wants, he shouldn't be forced to yield to that which he sees as immoral. The bible refers to homosexuality as an abomination before God, As far as I'm concerned, one man's right to suck another man off does not override my religious convictions.
The sad part is that we are not required to tolerate things we don't agree with anymore, we are put in the position of having to accept and even embrace such immoral behavior or we are chastised and called prejudice. Where will it all end? How long before we are forced to accept pedophiles because they are people too?

He** no! Why apologize for ones personal beliefs. He made it clear that his comments were his own and not those of the US military.

I find it very interesting that it is "politically correct" for someone to come out in support of gays, but it is not "politically correct" for someone to come out against them.
And meanwhile Halibourtons move doesn't even make the news.

We need more senior officers like General Pace with the balls to speak their minds. No, he should not apologize, nor should he be reprimanded.

Hell no.

He is doing what is right for our service. If we always did what the whiners wanted in the US we would be in a world of crap.

Lets pray we don't stay on the whiner boulevard for very long...

Don't even care about what he said. If we are going to argue about it then he has won. His intentions are to make people talk about it more and take your mind off the war. Do you think he personally cares who is gay or not? NO. Its just the war is going so bad that it would be better to say something like this than for the people to notice that.

They all expected britney spears, anna nicole stuff would last long in peolple's mind, but it did not.

But you have any good question you better ask why Halibourton is moving to Dubai from Texas. Yes they are moving their headquaters to the middle east to save taxes.
