If by religion is meant blind beliefs, prejudices, superstitions, dogmas, empty rites and animosity, there will be none left in 100 years.
People who object to the present form of beliefs and practices of old religions, are looking at the last stages of decadence and death of those religions. Forgetting that everything in life has a cycle where it is born, grows, matures, gives its fruits and then dies.
It is just like looking at a dead tree and wondering why it doesn't give fruits anymore!
It did, when it was alive, healthy and new.

Less. Look at the history of mankind so far. A hundred years ago religion was much more prominent than it is now. In the future, if we don't destroy ourselves first, advancing technology and mans own vainess will drive him farther away from what most now call mysticism. Some will still believe of course but the moral majority will be atheistic in nature. Most likely as mankind uncovers more of the secrets of life he will become less and less dependent on a God like figure, whom i am positive he will think he can disprove. In the end when enough of the population of this world disbelieves God will bring forth a major calamity that will be known as the end of times by those who are still deeply religious. God has done it before with the flood. Compare Noah's time with our time. Only Noah and his family truly believed and the rest of the world didn't so God wiped them out. In the future when we reach this point he will do the same to us. Some say only God knows when the end will come but i think that if we look at the past and keep an eye on the future we will be able to tell when the time is near at hand. I hope this answers your question in sufficient detail. Good luck to you and God bless.

mankind has always had some sort of relgion..and i think the mind of man can not live without answers to basic questions like..why we are here? why were we born..?? is thee a heaven or hell??
The more we look into something ...the more questions keep coming up.
it is all based on FAITH and just look at how many different religions of the world there are...and it don't look like its going to get any better...so my answer would be more religions..
take a look at all the questions on Yahoo! Q and A
Most are the same ones over and over...is there a God?
blah blah blah..Is there a Devil..yadda yadda yadda..
its getting worse when you enter in Allah and all the gods from the far east...China,? India? these have huge populations who all have thier many gods...
BUT WHAT DO I KNOW?

In one hundred years, society will not be the same as it is today. First of all, the boomers will be all passed away. Hardly no one will be living in cities, they will be derilect, with all the infrastructure crumbled to the ground. (No water, electricity or elevators.) The coast lines will be different because of the ice caps melting. And who knows what destruction the storms will do, leading up to all this.
People will not be much worried about which God is the true God. They will be worried about surviving.

In my opinion there is not going to be another 100 years with the way things are now. It sure is NOT going to improve that's for sure. God is patient, BUT the time is almost here, and if you listen you can hear the footsteps of Christ in heaven heading for His return to wipe out this sinful world and restore it back to Paradise that it once was before mans fall. I would be safe I think to say that we would be blessed to have another 50 years. No one knows the time of His return, not even Christ, but only the Father, and when there will be delay no longer, WATCH OUT, for His Children's Redemption is at hand.

Less. One to be exact.
I am happy you said "or so."
The Bible prophecies that soon the political systems of this world will attack all religion world wide - probably so as to cope with the growing religious terror?
According to the scriptures, this will culminate with the Great Tribulation and finally Armageddon where God rids the earth of all false worship and all governments today - the only government left will be God's Kingdom with Christ as king.
He and his co-rulers, the Saints, will then rule the earth from heaven.
See box for scripture. Pay particular attention to verse 10.

So that we will not be a victim of no religion people,we will not allow ourselves to be govern by them and be govern by Satan, however er according to bible there will be fight between the angels of God and angels of Satan in which case Satan will reign within 1000 years but soon the angels of God will fight them with the help of Jesus and those who deserve punishment will be punished while those who are with God will be given eternal life with God in heaven and that's the end of the world because the earth will vanish. Nobody could tell when that day will come.

Less, obviously. Communication and education = the death of religion. We are only now starting to see this happen as clearly shown by all of these wonderful, logical-thinking atheists present here.

In 100 years religion will be only an embarrassing memory. Superstition, of which religion is a part, will be so rare that practitioners will be thought of as ridiculous, childish or insane.
Religion is a meme which has far outlived it's usefulness.

In all probability by that time there will be less; in fact by that time most likely there will only be one as all the false religions will have been removed.
We cannot be specific about the timing, but we are definitely in what the bible calls the "last days."
