Did you find it made you really jumpy to start - like you couldn' lay still and restless... then later on just like you're in a daze? Things don't phase you as much? Or that you just stopped caring?

I've been on this for about two years now. One of my doctors said that it would also help me lose some weight but it hasn't. Sometimes I still feel down to. Maybe we should get it increased. I do like it and I don't want to come off of it. This is the only one that has helped me. Hope you feel better soon!

I've had definite weight gain while on Effexor, and it's a long-term medicine for me, so I'm eager to see if anyone has strategies for avoiding the trend. I go the gym daily and eat a specific diet.

I was on Effexor briefly (just a few months) and it was a miracle drug for me.I had to quit taking it though because it was causing my blood pressure to skyrocket. I even lost weight while I was on it. Your dose may need to be increased or you may need a different med.

The problem with Effexor ( and this came starught from the Dr's mouth) is that it affects an area of your brain known as the limbic system, drying up your emotions and making you feel numb; you decide is better to feel pain than nothing at all?
That's a good ? period....hmmm...
