I know this girl wouldnt want to get rushed into a date so soon, (her friend's advice), so what would be good ways to let her know without putting her on the spot.

Send her flowers, invite her to go to diner, the movies, etc

If you have already told her friend, then she already knows. But just to make it from you, send a flower with your number on it, or put slip of paper in her locker "you're cute" and sign it. You may actually have more fun doing the subtle and she will like that you gave her space and still showed her attention.

If she is recently out of a relationship, just relax.
If she is not, and seems like she is lonely, Tell her, Hey, I find you to be very attractive. If she responds badly, she's a write off.
'tis a man's job to be bold. Don't mess around and become "her Bestest friend to talk to."
You got about three chance meetings with her, before she sizes you up as someone who is not interested in her, sexually. Once that is gone, forget it.
If she is not seeking a boyfriend right now, it's more difficult. Just go places with her, movies, food whatever, spur of the moment. Don't make it like it's a big deal or formal. Just hanging out. See what happens.

No flowers, candy, none of that. Talk to her but at the same time act like you don't really care that much about her, to keep her interested. Any sweet things you may want to do for her that may cross your mind, do the opposite. Don't tell her you like her, because if she's that type of person she'll take advantage of your affection for her. Girls want guys they have to work for. It's stupid and makes no sense because they say that's what they want, but that's how it is. Once you actually get her though, by all means, show her what you're capable of.

Use your body language.. Look deep into her eyes (not other parts of her body), sweet smile often and make her feel special by doing things for her.

firstly just start talking to her when her friend is aroung and get to know her from that, if you keep asking her questions and paying attention to her....she will get a subtle hint
