I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this or if I should ask my doctor about it. Every morning when I wake up my arms are SO numb that I have absolutely no control of them. I can't even get them to operate correctly to turn the alarm off. It takes a minute or so and I can feel the blood coming back into them, kinda like when you sit on your leg too long and it goes to sleep. I was just curious as to wether or not this is normal for other people because I also experience heart palpitations and thought it may be a circulation thing related to my heart.

No that is not normal. It could be a problem with your neck, either the vertebra or discs. You need to see a Dr. & probably have a MRI & nerve function tests. Ask to see a neurologist. If no one is seeing you for heart palps, see a cardiologist.

I do this all the time, its my hands only though. Sometimes my arms. I wake up every morning without fail with my hand or hands numb. My mother in law had this problem and it was a nerve being pinched. I have anxiety so I try to just ignore it and write it off as how I slept. I get palpitations also but I know thats my anxiety- I have had it checked out before.
I agree withmost people that it is either sleeping or a spine issue. You can go to a good DO doctor or a chiropractor for that. I prefe the DO because he can get you the treatment needed in a hospital setting if that is necessary.
Good luck.

I have this happen to me frequently (the numbness in the arms, difficulty in turning off the alarm clock, the feeling that my arms are actually somebody else's). It almost always happens when I have been sleeping with my arms up over my head.

This is a problem that you should go to a doctor and have it seen to. It can be related to sleeping position and where your arms are in relation to your body when you sleep.

you may have fallen asleep on your arm, this will happen to me, while I am laying in bed watching TV, you may be doing it and not even knowing try putting your arm under the pillow when you sleep. see if that works.

You should go to your doctor about this soon.. When this happened to me, it was a thyroid problem..The palpitations are not a good thing.

Very rarely does that happen to me, and it's usually just in one arm rather than both.
