I'm thinking of 'manly' men as the likes of Sean Connery, Steve McQueen and Marlon Brando, etc, all those who exude a strong machismo, power, confidence and sexuality. Or the more sensitive man in the vein of Ewan McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal etc, the kind, warm, caring and considerate type.
Or do you prefer a hybrid of the two types, those who embody aspects of both archetypes, such as George Clooney or Clive Owen?
Who and why? Just curious.

I prefer a hybrid of the two.What woman doesn't want a man who is knid, warm, considerate caring and drop dead sexy at the same time. Don't get me wrong though DDS doesn't have to mean movie star looks like Brad Pitt Antonio Bandares. In fact I may be the only one who sees him as such. I've always liked guys who are a little edgy. Johnny Depp is an absoulte doll but so is Clive. Looks aren't what makes a man sexy. It comes from within.

I think what's attractive in a man is a man who is confident. He's not afraid to stand up for his family, wife, etc. To answer your question though, I think a good mix is best. Us women like a man who can be kind warm caring and considerate...just look at how we flock to gay guys!:) Seriously though, I believe this is because a lot of women have these traits naturally and when a man can be this way too it brings him to our level of thinking. If he's waaaay macho it's more like "what the heck is he thinking" sometimes. When I see a way macho guy I'm almost like "who are you trying to impress?" If he's too sensitive it's percieved as weak. So a good mix is best! I don't know any movie stars personally so I can't give you an example of one of them.

I want a guy who can cry like a infant and who would properly be very difficult and secure me from issues like spiders. properly, that become very strange yet ehm.. i want a guy to have the skill to appreciate me and my emotions. So i think the two.

i do not like the new age guys. Too sensitive. i mean i dont want some guy wiping my tears or hugging me all the time.
I like the ones that just "take ya" and then they leave ya alone

Both, I want someone to hold me while I'm cold and that listens to me ramble, actually one that rambles along with me but I also want one who is a macho man and is not overly sentimental, one that's not afraid to climb on a horse and do crazy stuff...combine both personalities for me please!
