the magnetic field did no longer turn him to steel...he chooses to be steel and not iron whilst he's in the magnetic field so as that he isn't any longer attracted to the magnetic rigidity....i think of of this as though the guy is attempting to be diverse from something and thanks to this he finally ends up being rejected via the others
