About 3 months ago I asked a question about evolution and intelligent design and got a fantastic answer from Vijay, I think his name was. Today I went to read the answer again, but my question says, "This question has been removed". I did not remove it, and I'm very upset. They left questions from before and after it, and even dirty questions. What's going on? Can Yahoo play around with my freedom of religion rights like that?

It's the holy spirit of Y!A at work. Remember, Y!A is infailible...

Someone has complained, it's not an issue of space (there are year-old "unresolved" questions with no answers sitting waiting to be voted on), check your email, there should be an "explanation" there.

More of a problem to me is the filter system which prevents questions from going up in the first place. At least I'm assuming that's what happened to one of mine, as the "customer care" people won't actually tell me why it couldn't go up, beyond referring me back to the rules at least three times. The specific issue would seem to be because I used the word "niggards" in my question. Presumably if I'd used **s and &^#$s instead it would have gone through, but I refuse to do that for any reason, but more specifically for a word which - though perhaps somewhat out-dated - could not possibly be construed to be offensive to anyone.

If anyone is interested, there is an amusing anecdote about PC language gone mad at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/niggard

Isn't your problem a matter of computer space! After a certain time the Yahoo management has to clean up, do dishes, etc.

If you like an answer to a question so much then next time save it to your computer.

Cyperspace has its limitations as does the very fine system the Yahoo people have set up.

Think of it as a notebook that occasionally gets full and needs to be erased to give space for new stuff.

Someone must have complained. The religious right often try to stifle debate here by calling questions that bring about the debate over evolution to keep people from seeing both sides of the issue.

Watch, I'll post one today.

Yahoo doesn't remove questions, people do. There are people on here who keep removing questions that aren't bad, and the Yahoo people don't look at the questions that are asked to be removed, they just remove them. I don't think Yahoo is biased either way, but other people definitely are. I hope that helps, God bless.

if people report your questions as abuse it can be removed, i really dont think as big as Yahoo is ( even though i have my own issues about yahoo) i seriously doubt they have time to sit there and read all the questions and answers on here, Yahoo is huge with tons of applications, I think maybe a couple people flagged your question. It's happen to me before about other things and I've flaged offisive things myself.

so chill, don't get all huffy about it, the people flagged you. Why is it people are so quick to assume that there rights are being steped on, geez u really think a billion dollar company has the time to read every thing on here?? Chill

Yahoo is a private company and therefore you have no freedom of expression rights. The law regarding freedom of expression only applies to public places.

Also when you signed up for answers you agreed that Yahoo have the absolute say. So even if the law might have applied here, you have explicitly permitted Yahoo to bypass your right.

Your question was obviously insulting enough to someone for him/her to report it, which lead to it's removal. It's happened to me a couple of times. Don't worry about it. Don't blame yahoo for helping the one who reported you, they'd do the same for you. Its just that they are stuck in the middle. Blame the one who reported you in the first place, which, unfortunately, you may not be able to find out who it was.

I don't know if you noticed or not but you are not the only one here on YA, if your question was removed it was because it was old, its been three months...get over it!!

The only rights you have on Yahoo are the rights Yahoo decides to give you, and they can change their mind whenever they want for whatever reason they want.
