Other than to stop scratching or moving your head around I don't think you can. If you don't use a dandruff shampoo, I would switch to one such as Selson Blue. Maybe an oil treatment to help oil your scalp and make it less dry.

Hair gels and other styling products can also contribute to the problem.

Its a dry scalp, and could be from you not rinsing all the products out of your hair when you shampoo.

One of the best things I can think of you to do is not only get a dandruff shampoo, and use daily, but take a comb before you wash your hair and kinda scrape your scalp, don't irritate it, but get the dandruff lifted up enough that once you start washing it will come on off. Or while you shampoo, take a soft bristled brush and scrub your head with it. (A fingernail brush will work good)

Once your done with the shampooing, condition your hair also. Now lay off all the heavy product usage, because something your using is drying your scalp out. If nothing else, get you some VO5 hairdressing cream, use a pea size amount, and rub into your scalp, before styling. This will moisturize your scalp...and hopefully help with the dandruff problem.

Well, Dandruff comes from when you dont get all the Shampoo or conditioner out of your hair. So if you get the Shampoo and Conditioner ALL out of your hair, you wont have any dandruff.
