In Hindu philosophy the world and cosmos are considered a dream only. It is human perception to think God as a human being with all the stages we pass through. God is really formless and at best he can be termed as Love and Light. He is the supreme light from which all including the Sun gets its power of heat and light. If God sleeps how the world will function? Hence It is not correct to attribute sleep and dream to God. He is Pure awareness. Constant Integrated Awareness. He fills the world and beyond. The sleep and dream belong to the mind body complex of human beings. nagarajan.

He never sleeps!

The Bible makes it clear that God has infinite power.

Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you (Jeremiah 32:17).

The Bible also states that an infinite God does not have to rest.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary there is no searching of His understanding (Isaiah 40:28).

What is the purpose of sleep? The physical body needs rest to rejuvenate. God is Spirit. Spirits don't sleep are not bound by physical inhibitions.

God is not the dreamer, he is the dream weaver.

There are too many stories of people who have had dreams of things yet to come that came from God.

I believe that he does not, i can find no scriptural evidence for this, but sleep is to revitalize our physical bodies. We are mere mortals, but God is the alpha and omega, he is omni-present! He ed the Israelites by day and night, not just some of the time, but all the time!
