This is something that my mother used to make for me as a child on a regular basis. All you do is pop a couple of slices of white bread into the toaster, heat some milk, and then combine with a sprinkling of sugar or cinnamon. Delicious! I will have to revive this old, childhood breakfast one of these days.

Yes, in a hospital, after being run off the road and beaten by
friends of someone I had arrested for attempted murder. My jaw wasn't working well so the nurse spoon fed me. I ate it and little else over a three day period. Later, I went to court to watch the shooter get convicted, and smile at some ugly faces.

Sounds like french toast,But we always had a slice of bread, usually french bread, and we mixed 2eggs,cinnamon,and whole milk together, beat real well, now dip your bread in this, have a hot frying pan ready, now put the bread in pan,now brown on both sides, put on plate and put some powdered sugar on top and ready to eat, some people put a little syrup on also, yum yum

I use to have this at my grandma's house.

Her topping of choice was golden brown sugar .

she would cut up the bread into squares when I was younger , cover with a dusting of brown sugar and warm milk.

I was mentioning this the other day, so nice visit down memory lane.

Thanks for the smile.

The closest thing to that that I have ever had is French Toast -- and I do like that on occasion !! Although of late I've noticed that a lot of places in Texas don't call it French Toast any more--- they're calling it Freedom Toast --- what's up with that ??

I have heard of it, my mother told me that her mother would make her eat it. She told me she would choke it down. My mother never made it for me. I guess if you don't like soggy bread don't try this recipe but if you don't mind your bread being soggy and can handle the mush in your mouth then go for.

My mom used to have this when she was sick. I didn't know anybody ate it any other time than when sick. I don't think it was sweetened much, if at all, though. It definitely had a spot of butter in it.

I have! My dad wanted us to know what it was like when he was growing up. So I had it, once.

Not bad at all, surprisingly.
