I would take him to court so it is nice and legal. Only he knows if he will be helping you or not if you don't. Have you talked with him regarding this?

Take him to court, if your not married he has no legal responsibility to give you anything unless a judge oders it. Im not saying he shouldnt..... Im saying hes not required too. Most men will not step up to the plate unless they are made too.
The judge will most likey order DNA to prove the baby is his. Once its 99.9% is baby, then a court order will be issued. I feel a man shouldnt have to be forced to pay, he should pay because its his baby, but since most men arent man enough to do that........... well..... they HAVE to make him.
Odds are your child support wont be very much at all. I have a friend, that her husband wonly works part time at a low paying job just so it is low. He only pays 30.00 a week. I have told him thats bullshit.
I do feel that the mother is responsible for 50% of the support. I dont mean what welfare pays i mean 50% of the childs upkeep from work dollars. For example if the dad is paying 400 a month the mom should be contributing that much as well.

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. I SAY GO AHEAD AND GO TO COURT SO YOU HAVE A COURT ORDER. IF HE WANTS TO HELP YOU, HE SHOULDN'T OBJECT, AND IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO, THE JUDGE WILL ORDER IT. EITHER WAY, IT'S BEST FOR YOUR BABY, SINCE IT WILL ENSURE THAT HE/SHE WON'T HAVE TO GO WITHOUT IF YOU AND HIM START DISAGREEING. I THINK IT SHOULD BE FAIR-50/50 ON EVERYTHING FROM VISITATION TO MEDICAL BILLS. I HATE WHEN ONE PARENT IS HELD 100% FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE 2 PEOPLE MADE THE BABY. JUST DO THE BEST YOU CAN AND BE FAIR, AND EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT. GOOD LUCK.

I'm confused because you have a guy's picture up like you are a guy???
Anyway, I say give him a chance and see if he's in the life of the child. See how things go. If he doesn't help, then take him to court.

Do it in court so that you can be as sure as possible to receive some support for your child-if he is a real man he will pay his child support-if you are a good mom you will spend it on the child.

Try talking to him first...if he does not talk to you and does not act as if he cares, take steps to take him to court for child support and the sooner the better. I had to wait ONE whole year before someone helped me. They have so many cases to do that you need to get the ball rolling as soon as you can.

I'd take him to court, most daddies don't. If he's not planning to marry you he probably won' t help you.
