Well i am about to go to the US next month. I don't know many people there and its my first trip there. I don't want to spend my years alone. What to do? how to form a good stable relation and above all how to find one? What to look for in a person and what are the other does and don't for a new commer?
I am totally ignorant in this regard.

The best thing to do is get involved in some local singles groups in the area you will be staying in. It's probably the quickest way to meet some nice people and have fun doing some of the groups' activities at the same time. This way you will have something in common with the lady you might be trying to meet.
If you are religious at all, you can check out some church singles groups too. You will probably find better quality people in these groups (personal experience) than other places.
Stay away from night clubs or bars if you are trying to meet somebody as they are mostly a meat market where a lot of people are just looking for sex.
Every person is different, so do's and don'ts aren't going to be the same for everyone. One thing you do need to do though is be honest about your stay here. Be sure to let the lady you meet know that you are here for only 18 months or so. If you aren't interested in coming back or working on a long distance relationship, it might be hard for you to meet someone for a steady relationship. You can date and have fun, but if the lady is not interested in a long distance relationship, it is only fair that she knows you will have to leave.
As far as how to meet someone, just be yourself(don't pretend to be someone else just to impress a lady) and be polite. Don't try to use dumb pick-up lines to meet a lady - they don't like that. Just introduce yourself, tell her where you are from(most people will find this interesting because they like to know things about other countries and their culture), and whatever you do, don't act arrogant. The most important thing is to be confident - women find that very attractive in a guy.

1st always be yourself and 2nd never try to be something your not to impress others if you have to do so to get someones attention they are not worth it 3 be approachable and try not too seem too shy although some people think its cute keep it balanced 4 never go out looking for someone u will just be disappointed when nothing happens and u don't meet anyone be cool and relax that person will come. And remember before you can be someones partner you have to be there friend if you get along as friends anythings possible. Ohh and the lines forget em cheesy lines only work on cheesy people and i don't think u want to settle down or have serious relationship with someone like that. Just start a normal convo trying not to make it obvious that you find that person attractive show an interest in them and don't always ask for a number trust me if they like you they will offer or ask you why you haven't asked. that is a very good sign. Or you mite just bump into them another time and start where u left off.
