People do not want to know that God exists. Scripture says that wicked humanity is suppressing the truth of God.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth (Romans 1:18).

This is an active willingness on the part of people to keep the truth of God from coming to them.

People Substitute False Gods For The Real God

When people reject the existence of the true God they substitute false gods in His place.

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse; for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools; and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles (Romans 1:19-24).

They worship the spirits of their ancestors, trees, rivers, mountains, and false gods and goddesses. They turned to worshipping anything but the only God who exists.

They Still Can Know The Truth

Jesus made it clear that anyone who wishes to know the truth about God’s existence can certainly know it.

If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own (John 7:17).

It is a matter of people being willing to know whether or not God exists.

Summary

The Bible says that everyone knows that God exists. However many people do not acknowledge His existence. In fact, they are running from him - they are willingly and actively rejecting his truth. Although God is speaking to them, they are purposefully not listening. Instead of worshipping him they are substituting false gods in his place. However the Bible says that everyone still can know the God of Scripture – if they are willing to listen.

I've got one better for you, what is god, really. see i do believe that there is a higher power yes, but is it the "Judea-christian god". what you should be asking is if he is real. for all you know, you could be following the wrong god. I say that all Christians and Muslims should start praying to Elvis, why, he is the king. And why not, for all you know you could be wrong, Christians like to say that every one else is wrong, but how would they know, cuz of a book written thousands of years ago, by some guys that claim to have spoken to god, come on now. If some one was on the street telling you that they speak to god, what would you think, what would any sane person think for that matter. if we are to believe that the authors of the bible were in fact speaking to god, then how can we discredit the guy going down the street with tin foil on his head to keep the devils powers out, or what ever, and saying that he is a profit of god. lets not forget David koresh, he said that he was the son of god reborn, (aka Jesus), and if he was the ATF and Janet Reno are in a lot of trouble. About now you might think I am off my rocker, and I can see why, all of that sounds ludicrous, because it is. what you should do is find what you can really believe in, and rise above the masses

I can't say for sure, with 100% certainty, but I don't believe that God is real. I consider myself an agnostic-atheist. I, just me personally, think that the possibility of such a being existing is slim to none. Others have varying opinions on this matter, which is all well, but the reality of it is, that neither side can say with absolute certainty if God is or isn't really. Maybe close to certain (one way or the other) but we can't know until we die.

Yes. God is real and Lord Jesus Christ as one of the sons of God is also real. Bible is one of many words of the unlimited God.

After the creation, God gave various scriptures so that human beings can, by reading them lead a peaceful life on earth and understand the purpose of God.

Scriptures vary from place to place and are different according the nature of the persons capacity.

Jesus Christ appeared in a different place
Mohammed(pbuh) appeared in different place
And other preachers of God consciousness appeared in different places and gave different methods of approach to God. Though, all speak about the same God consciousness, the way of approach is different due to difference in language, place and circumstances etc...

Consider this : An archaeologist digs deep into the desert sand and finds a piece of an old clay pot. After his investigations, this archaeologist can tell us, from this little old piece of dusty clay, so much about the civilisation that existed thousands of years ago that produced it; he can tell us about the types of ovens, temperatues, and dyes that they worked with, the raw materials that they used, and thus assess the level of their artistic skill and technological ability, etc. All this from a small piece of clay lying in the desert.
Did this archaeologist ever see the civilisation that produced this pot ?

How does he know that it ever existed ?

He knows because he saw that the piece of clay was produced by someone who designed it, and shaped it, and had the intelligence to be able to heat it and produce the pot, and not only that, they also had the ability to colour it and make it look beautiful.

Design ==> Designer.

To the archaeologist the existence and intricacy of the piece of pottery is conclusive proof of the existence, intelligence and ability of the people who made it.

Look around you: at the beautiful sunset on a summer evening, at the moon and the stars on a cloudless night, at the water that you drink, at the trees and how they grow from tiny seeds.

Think about yourself: your eyes with which you see, your ears with which you hear, your tongues with which you taste and talk, your hands and your feet, your heart and your brain.

Consider how these things are so complex in themselves and yet work together in such perfect harmony.

From the movement of the galaxies to the complexities of the interaction of molecules, from the dynamics of eco-systems to the intricacies of DNA, all lead to the obvious fact of the existence of the great Wisdom, Knowledge and Power that allows our Universe to exist and function.

To any perceptive person the existence and intricacy of creation is conclusive proof of the Existence, Knowledge and Wisdom of the One who creates, organises and sustains it.

Most people naturally recognise the existence of the Creator, and we find reference to the Creator in all cultures and religions. Even the atheists, communists and (disbelieving) scientists cannot avoid this reality, but avoid the term 'creator', for phrases like 'Mother Nature' and 'the amazing way nature has designed...'

How strange in the face of this, that many today reject the belief in the existence of the Creator. Perhaps this is due more to fashion and the desire to justify a materialistic attitude to life rather than real observation and comprehension of reality.

Something stranger still, and perhaps another reason for the trend to deny the Creator, are those who claim that a man, or men, who walked on the earth, breathed air, who had bodies and souls subject to the Laws of the Universe, are the Creator, or manifestations of the Self-Subsistent One.

This is of course a complete contradiction in terms. Something cannot be the Creator and created at the same time, needing air, food and drink and being self-sufficient, being temporary and eternal!

If you are one of those who believe that a man such as Buddha, or Krishna, or Jesus is the Creator and Controller, then think again.

We were created from a drop of despised fluid, in which was a microscopic sperm, which in turn fertilised a microscopic egg and we grew in our mother's womb in stages predetermined, over which we had no control. We came from our mother's womb, urinating and defecating, needing constant attention and care. Without food we will die, without air we will die ... and then such a one is God?

Indeed any intelligent person would recognise exactly how dependant life, the universe and everything is on its Creator. Our dire need for His help makes itself plain in times of great distress.

Imagine yourself in an aeroplane and you know it is going to crash...

Who do you turn to for help then ?

Or on a ship in the sea, thrown helplessly up and down by towering waves ...

There will have been a situation at one time or the other in your life when you called upon your Creator alone, forgetting everyone and everything else, hoping, trusting, wishing that the Being you know in your heart and soul that has power and control over all things would help you. The only One you know can save you!

Being a catholic is not presently an express ticket to paradise!
Catholics are killing cows and other animals for food, while the Bible says:"Thou shalt not kill!"
Original Christians were strictly vegetarians:the Essenes[http://essenespirit.com]
Demonic Popes of the past have added poison to the words of Jesus and reading such literature poisons one's spiritual life.
Read about how the Cathars were killed by catholic leaders and the inquisition[anyone opposing the Church were burnt alive!].Mr Google is here to help you!
Did Jesus really turned water into wine?Wine is an intoxicant, and makes people mad....Would a Prophet do such a thing?
So the idea is to be free to search for the Truth.I myself prayed intensely to God as a catholic:I was pushed into Indian scriptures, magically, and now am more satisfied with answers given by such literature:I became vegetarian and avoid all intoxicants.

It depends on your definition. Is "God" a man sitting on a cloud dancing everyone with strings? Or is "God" something beyond conprehension? Does he live on a separate plane or does he live within all things? Look around. Do you think that the world could be as it is without some form of Supreme Deity/Deities? What else would you call the energy that encompasses the world? "Matter", in my opinion, is the energy of the Supreme Deity/Deities. It's always in motion, always manipulating the world (and I don't mean that term negatively.) Perhaps, Catholicism isn't for you? Research religions until one won't leave you alone. Until you find one that you can't pull away from, one that won't stay out of your head, immerse yourself in it. God/God(esse)s are trying to tell you something.

No chance.

How likely is it that the entire universe, complete with stars and galaxies and planets and countless millions of species of life on Earth, could just exist spontanously, fully formed, from nothing, from nowhere? Clearly, such an idea is a nonsense - it's inconceivably improbable. Nevertheless, some people argue that something infinitely more improbable still - an intelligent entity capable of *designing and creating* such a universe - does indeed just exist fully formed, from nothing, from nowhere. This is so obviously, jaw-droppingly ridiculous that it has to be rejected as sheer fantasy.

No, God is a lie, and no more real than Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy. I was a christian for years, but am now much, much happier as an atheist. I suggest you read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, or visit www.infidels.org and www.rational-living.com for more information. The truth will set you free!

Define "real"...
Are you real?
Are the chair you may be sitting on or the computer monitor you may be looking at real?

Does "god" share the qualities of those things that make them "real" or not?

What good does it do to ask those questions when you can't even be sure what "real" actually means? Its like asking whether mice are flerious....
Do you know what "flerious" is?
Me neither... and I'm the one who made the word up.
