Hi,

it is true that Chinese people live and work in just about every country in the world.

They have a history of settling in other countries and running (now traditional)businesses-at one time it was laundries and now restaurants. Though many Chinese now work in almost every 'normal' type of labour.

As your question fell in the 'languages' section I assume you meant the Chinese language. Chinese is the second 'most widely used' language in the world (Mandarin) however that is based on the number of people who use it, not the spread.

As there are something like 1.1 Billion Chinese most of the Chinese spoken is on the Chinese mainland. Chinese is not spoken much by people of other races.

There are a couple of reasons for this. The written form of Chinese is very different from the letter forms that we use in English (the most widely spoken language in the world) and it is difficult for us to identify the sounds of the chinese writing (whereas we all know, roughly, how to pronounce words in almost any European language, for example)

Another reason Chinese is not spoken much, by foreigners, is that there has been little need to do so. China wasn't a big buyer of foreign goods, and those that wanted to buy could speak English, or whatever language was needed.

This reason may disappear as China is rapidly becoming a larger and larger manufacturer and seller.

So, I'm not quite sure I've answered your question correctly, but hope I've helped a little.

Cheers,

Thanks to the dictator Qin emperor who destroyed all other languages & cultures, murder all schoolars who refuse to use the language of his choice. Resulting one unified China. That's why Chinese is a huge population, and now it's really all over the world. If it weren't for him, Chinese is probably as diverse as Europeans.
It's unexpectably amazing result of an evil act.
