I'm finding lately that it's more of a management decision than anything else. Many restaurants where I live gladly welcome your dogs in the outside seating areas while others will tell you that it's against the law. I'm finding the restaurants that do allow your dogs are doing more business. I walked into a hardware store last weekend holding my small dogs in my arms and was told that I couldn't have her in there. Wasn't given a reason why. I said, "Okay, I'll take my business elsewhere". Went down the street to another hardware store where they gushed over my dog. I told them what happened at the other hardware store and with that, the owner pulled out a big box of biscuits and said, "This is how we feel about dogs here" as he handed my dog a biscuit. Just don't support the places that don't allow pets and support the ones that do. Actions sometimes speak louder than words...

It is against health codes in many cities to have a dog in a restaurant. Some places choose to over look this. These laws vary by city not state. It is also the venues choice whether to allow it or not. Many places will allow you to sit on the patio and eat with your dogs now.
I know that Dallas is trying to change the laws so that there is indoor area for people and their pets to eat. It will come with many rules. Like dogs have to sit on floor not table or chairs. They will not be allowed to eat off of venue plates/bowls etc.. The patio loke areas have to be washed every 45 minutes and on and on.
Things are changing. People take their dogs every where and soon it will be possible.

it probably depends on the state and/or county. i think it should be up to the restaurant to decide whether or not to allow pets and if people don't like it they have every right to eat some place else. In california even in the desert you can't bring a dog in in 120+ digrees when a restaurant or place that serves food is the only thing around theyd rather the dog die than some whiny **** be offended
The problem with america is that people are against personal responsibility - just let the restaurants decide and then make the choice where to eat, simple, no government involvement required.

It is usually up to the manager...It depends on what their views are about it. Some restaraunts won't because they do feel like it is a health and safety issue. But, as long as the pet is calm and not bothering any one I don't see what the big deal is. I would LOVE to take my Chi with me when I go to Wal-Mart or to the mall...but, they don't allow it. When I first got him, he was this tiny little thing, and we had to stop at wal-mart on our way home...It was very hot out, and it was the middle of summer...So I couldn't leave him in the car, or he would die...So I carried him in my arms and they wouldn't let me in....That made me sooo mad! I had to wait outside for at least an hour in the summer heat...with the panting 3 month old puppy....They sure did hear my mouth about it the whole time I was standing their and the whole time I was walking away to go home...

I don't have a problem with Guide dogs being allowed in restaurants and hotels. But I don't see why other dogs should be allowed in, they slobber and get hair everywhere.
You also have to take in to account that many people are allergic to dogs, why should these people have to sneeze all over their food in restaurants just because you don't want to leave your dog alone?

to boot her pictures as much as date, bordetella, etc. based the place you're going and the place they get their water source from, i might provide her bottled water. that would disillusioned their tummies. deliver all her shot documents with you incase you choose them. discover out the closest veterinarian from the place you would be staying. only incase. of path you would be bringing her nutrition, treats along with her. Toys, crate. they are going to be coming in to scrub the room and you do no longer want her to be working around. i might have an illustration on the kennel approximately no longer letting the canines out or putting hands interior the kennel.

Not all dogs are well behaved, there are many irresponsible owners that would bring their uncontrollable badly behaved dog in just because they can.
