Back problems run in my family, and like you, I suffered years of pain. Two things helped: acupuncture and physical therapy. In the p/t you will build your "core" and learn exercises that will not only eliminate but also help prevent the pain to begin with. The therapists also use massage, heat and other modalities to help. I hate meds, and see them only as a last resort. I have continued the exercises. I am pain-free, and even show them to friends and family who have back pain -- they get almost immediate relief.

I would definitely get a second opinion, and find out for yourself what the problem is and any limits it may place on exercise. Then ask your Dr. to prescribe the physical therapy.

Also, there is a great site with info and free exercises for the back and spine problems -- here are some links to get you started (just verify first that there is no reason that you CAN'T exercise.)

1. Some basic ones that are good:

2. Other good ones, most of which I've done in pt:

(a good hamstring stretch -- "Hamstring stretching can play a critical role in alleviating sciatic pain as long as the positions are held long enough – usually 30 seconds – to really elongate the muscle.")

I do not know if you can or not. I live in Canada and I know we can here. However it sounds to me there is a possibility you could have parasites and digestive problems. If you have had an injury then the doctor should of recognized that , however they do not even think about Parasites, which can do all kinds of damage to our bodies, if you like you can contact me and I will get you in touch with a Herboligist Dr. who was a health practitioner and who is now a formulator of his own products I believe can help you with natural means.

Ofcourse you should! And why don't you take a second opinion from an orthopeadic? Why are you just going to your GP even when you are not getting any relief ?

Yes. You can go and ask the Radiologit to take the X-Ray of your back. Tell him your complaint and he will take the suitable X-Ray with the report. Then take the x-ray and the report to a Orthopodic surgeon.

Alternatively, start drinking Noni herbal fruit juice twice a day with water for about six months. It will strengthen your bones and muscles and get rid of the back pain. Doing light youga/exercise daily will also help you.

You should go to a spine or orthopedic surgeon/doctor who can really help you. Get an MRI which is much acurate than x-rays to reallly get a proper diagnosis. I have severe scoliosis and had to have my lumber fused back in 2005. I've been through it ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just had a total hip replacement bc of the scoliosis and on and on and on..............GOOD luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would find a different doc! Did you know that doctors get a cut from the prescriptions they write? And most prescriptions are made to keep you on them for life.

lower back pain occurs in those who have lots of guilt feelings on account of some act of theirs. Once the guilt feelings are gone by doing meditation, all back pain will cease.
