Probably because the very people in charge are that way THEMSELVES! I'm NOT saying that all are that way, but I'd bet even money that very large percentage of them are. I just can't think of any reasonable explanation. If you stop to think about it, what BETTER occupation for a pediphile? As many of them advanced through the system, I'm sure that they looked out for each other. And now probably MANY of them are in positions of power. Why ELSE would they just TRANSFER them instead of DISMISSING them outright. What is really sad, is that, regular catholics don't "rise" up in protest and hit them where it HURTS. In the WALLET. Then the powers that be in Rome would actually DO something about it. So what about it, all you Catholics? Why not stop ALL giving until the Pope actually starts taking MEANINGFUL action? ...theBerean

Honestly, I believe it's because the "Holy" Roman Catholic Church is afraid this would cause a more severe shortage of priests than it's experiencing now. The number of retiring/dying priests far outnumbers new ones. Imagine how many would be left if they then sorted out the rotten fruit!

Perhaps if the Church would finally admit that forced celebacy on the clergy is unscriptural it would get more priests and nuns. They believe celebacy is required because it makes a person more spiritual; while this may be true, Scripture tells us celebacy must be voluntary. Even 1 Cor. 9:5 PROVES Peter (their so-called first Pope) was married!

EDIT: "Henry P" you refer to the False Prophet. However, Scripture makes it pretty clear he will be a Jew, since he arises from the earth (a symbol of the Jews). Otoh, the beast of Rev. 13 is the Antichrist, a gentile (since he arises out of the water, a symbol for gentiles.) To see the Catholic Church during the Tribulation, you must read Rev. 17. She is a city that sits on 7 hills; she rides a different beast than that of Rev. 13 -- her beast is false religion/idolatry.

The Church is taking serious action to deal with the problem - which incidentally is no more prevalent in the Catholic church than anywhere else. The Church is also screening applicants to the seminary more closely, to avoid ordaining homosexuals, since that, not pedophilia as the secular press likes to call it, is the basis of the problem.

The Catholic Church has done more than any other denomination to remove predator priests from active ministry. Much of the abuse took place years ago. Any suspected abuse today is immediately dealt with. Most diocese have taken further steps to insure that ANYONE, from Janitors to secretaries to teachers, to volunteers, who work with children are screened before and watched during their time working with children. Other personal are told to watch for and report any abuse from anyone. For more information visit Virtus on line. Viritus is a continuing education course workers take to become aware of how to recognize predators.

The bible describe the Catholic as the beast - read & study Revelation 13 to make this clear.

They are a beast empowered by the dragon (the devil) to starts with, so what could u expect?

Btw, if u continue reading rev 13, they are being "back-up" by another beast that "looks like a lamb but speak like a dragon" (Lamb is a symbol for Jesus in the bible)

Can anyone guess who is this second beast?

Good question - read the vows a priest takes before he becomes one, his loyalty is to the church not God or Jesus. They will continue to cover their a** while they uncover those of others.

They will never get rid of all the pervy priests as a lot haven't been found yet and they will never volunteer themselves forward to be reckoned with.
I feel sorry for all the ex pupils alter boys etc that have to live with their memories of the tormentors.....
