we have all been told that we need to recycle rubbish and save energy but how can we show how kids how children are the ones who have got to live in this world after we have gone (if there will be a world left)so what basic things do you think we can teach our kids??

Well we should teach them pretty much everything we know!
e.g
# Dont waste water
# Dont waste electricty
and so on!

It's true children are are next generation. I encourage my children to go into all the enviremental stuff. But i think if the children are 9 to 14, you should tell them the truth of what's going to happen to dear mother earth in the future. For the littler ones just tell them if they do recycle and whatever it helps the earth to be a happier place. Then tell them to tell all their friends and parents. For ex:-at Xmas time tell them when they're cutting Trees later on plant new ones.

Now the politicians have all jumped on the bandwagon it will be easier for our children to understand the green thing unless of course those greedy vote catchers want to jump back onto the NHS , SCHOOLS and HOSPITALS.
We should invent some other thing for them to jump onto and pretend that they care.
I hope our children do keep up with the green thing but they could start with parents telling them not to drop litter all over the show outside their schools.

Plant more trees, give kids activities like sowing seeds planting trees taking care of trees. They will love it and you will enjoy it too.
Tell them to recycle as much as possible.
Buying new toys/games (plastic ones) has environmental consequences explain this to them.
Take them close to nature let them enjoy it, only when they love nature will they understand its importance enough to protect it.

simple- bye showing your kids how to be 'greener' will teach them how to be greener
you can't sit a kid down and teach about 'eco' awarenes, then drive of in 4 BYE 4!!
