If drinking water is suspected to be contaminated, it can be disinfected by boiling for 15 mins.or using the proper dose of chemical disinfectant like Bleaching Powder, Liquid Chlorine (Sodium hypochlorite solution), Chlorine tablets available in the local market / medical shops, under various different commercial product name. But confirmation of quality of chemical disinfectant and chemical potability of water should be known before treatment of water.

You cannot disinfect drinking water but you can filter water.
1. Boil water, cool it, then place into container/s.
2. Buy bottled water.
3. Buy a water Fliter to take the 'nasties' out of the tap water,
Filters are available at Department Stores eg. KMart, BigW, Target, or Hardware Stores.

you can disinfect ur drinking water by
1.By boiling it 10-15 minutes.
2.By using water filters.
3.Alum is best known home remedy to disinfect ur drinking water.it is popularly known as "fitkari".put it in ur boiled water.
