I am very worried I may have MS. Im 23 and about 3 years ago I began to develop some symptoms. From time to time I would feel shaky and weak all over for no apparant reason. I noticed it particularly in my forearms, which would become stiff and sore even when doing simple tasks like typing or lifting shopping bags and that my hands were shaking when lifing a glass to my lips etc.
I was worried, but due to the fact that the symptoms then dissapeared, I failed to have it investigated.
However, they did return over the past 3 years on and off. Last year I developed a tremor in my lower lip that has become so frequent it now happens every day.
Since December I have felt unwell and have had the following symptoms: Shakiness and painful muscles (as above), occasional numbness down my arms , lip twitching, extreme exhaustion to the point of having no energy to do ANYTHING, wobbling when I walk and now, flashing lights in one of my eyes.
If not MS, WHAT could this be??

it's very possible you have Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is very similar to MS in its side effects. The extreme fatigue And the flashing lights makes me think of Fibromyalgia. I've enclosed a link to a web site where you can read about the symptoms and treatments of Fibromyalgia. I would go to your doctor and ask about this as soon as possible.

You're right, all of your symptoms point to MS. The muscle tingling/weakness, the flashing in your eye (I bet you have some pain in your eye also), the tremors, and the fatigue (called MS lassitude) are all symptoms which can be caused by MS.

Granted, these symptoms can all be caused by other things as well, but this is something that should be checked by your doctor first to rule out other causes. Following that, see a neurologist. You may need an MRI and analysis of CSF.

Not certain, but if I were you I would try to fix it, from my research this will help:
1. Additives Vitamine C 1000mg twice a day, Lecithin granules work up to 1 tablespoon(heaped) a day - disperses well in milk & yougart, Epsom salts (MgSO4.7H2O) 250mg (size of small tablet) swallow quickly with water
2. Increase your water intake by at least 2 glasses of water a day.
3. Exercise 3X a week at least heart rate >110 but<140 for at least 30 mins, is the goal,. You will have to work up to this from what you say.
4. Increase consumption of fruit & veg. Have 1 apple a day - fresh, & the skin is the vital part.
5. Ideally have a muslie type mix at some time a day with sunflower seeds (Zn & vit.E & omega 6) & ground flax seeds(omega 3 & high fibre) I often mix these in with yougart
