Sure you can.
You DO believe in something but it doesn't have to be a formalized religion.

Basically all ANYBODY needs is the Original Golden Rule.
*~Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.~*
That's really the ONLY rule in life you need. Very simple actually. Logical.
(the other Golden Rule is He who has the gold makes the rules; that's why I said original one)

You can be religious, agnostic, or atheist and have a loving family.
You believe in loving your children to the fullest don't you?
Well there you go. That's something you believe in.

Marrying someone of an organized faith can be tricky but usually when people marry outside of their religious background is because they know where to limit the reach of religion in their lives. They are actually recognizing the incompleteness of religions so they don't take everything said 100%. This is how Jews can marry Catholics and get along.
Both sort of have to say that both of their religions are a little 'bull'.

There are religious people marrying not-so-religious people and getting along just fine. But it DOES make it easier for you to marry people of similar backgrounds and viewpoints. But it's not impossible to do otherwise.

What's most important is making sure that the devotion to each other and the family is intact. If that pans out everything else rides over top. That's all that ever mattered anyhow.

No two persons are ever gonna perfectly match I don't care what it seems like. It's a matter of how each person respects & recognizes the value of the other and choose to care for them as they care for themselves. Reminding themselves of that will override the places where they don't mesh.

Yes you can raise a family without a formal faith.
Shoot, even people denoting themselves as religious don't necessarily follow the tenets of their religion. They just keep the title for social/family reasons or an unresolved facing up to their true belief system.

One needs to have faith in himself/herself to be able to make things happen and thus - be able to raise a family. One needs to be a role model to their children even if he/she does not believe in anything. In order to do this - one needs to put aside his/her beliefs whether there is one or none for their family and in this case - their children.
