I was recently flying from France to New York. I had a few drinks and went to sleep. I woke up when I felt some hot fluid dripping off my head. I looked up and saw that it was coming from the luggage bin above my head. I jumped up and the Stewardess came to me. We opened the bin and found a small french poodle had been in a lady's purse and it had gotten out and peed all over the place. The owner had smuggled the dog aboard in her purse to avoid the pet fees. The lady had a few drinks and put the dog up there while she napped. With whom do I have the claim for the dry cleaning?

That's sooooo funny. You could sue the airline, of course and the dog owner. But I wouldn't, for the simple fact that I wouldn't want to be the person in the news everyone laughed at.
Makes you think, doesn't it? If with all the security measures it's possible to smuggle a dog aboard, how easy is a bomb?
I'm NOT flying!

I am not sure why you would sue. Yes, the woman should not have brought her dog onboard the plane and then put it in the overhead bin but you didn't mentioned what damages occured to you for her having done that aside from wanting dry cleaning. Which is silly...if it was an article of clothing that requires dry cleaning you would just get it done anyway and if it is an item that doesn't require dry cleaning normally you can just put it in the washer/dryer like everyone else does. Stop being "sue happy". I can guarantee you that TSA saw the animal and asked her about it. A dog is HARD to miss going through an x-ray machine.

Don't start with a lawsuit. Contact the airline and tell them the story. They have at least a partial responsibility for your comfort and safety.

They then can in turn, if appropriate, get the name of the idiot who first thought it was okay to bring a dog on an airplane (which a lot of fools do) and then thought it would be a good idea to put the dog in an overhead bin.

"Ohhh! Pookie! I can't leave poor Pookie behind!! Pookie is like my baby! Here, I'll just stuff Pookie in an overhead compartment, yes I will!"

This lady doesn't seem to have a lot of money, so don't bother sueing her. Instead of contacting a lawyer, contact the airline instead. They have the legal means to fine her, and should have detained her at the destination. The airline doesn't have to give you anything, but they might.

Why would you??????
The world is too sue happy.
The airlines should have fined her or something.
You should get on with your life and lose the "victim" way of thought!!
