what type of bar would you like to patronise and why?

am doing a project and i need to design a bar operation from the ground. what you expect from a bar, and some ideas to make the bar unqiue.

I like smaller more laid-back bars. Nothing with pounding thumping music, crowds, or flashy lights. I'd like to have one in this city that has the old hardwood floors, mostly dark, tall tables and chairs, booths, a big-screen TV, beer lights and mirrors, pool, and darts. A place I don't have to dress up to go to. A good old small town hick bar.

First of all, I must say no smoking. While it is a personal preferance, I find it much more appealing. I enjoy bars that are not "geared" too specifically to one gender and offer a bit of everything. The bar that i enjoy going to the most is a micro-brewery and they have TVs on with news and sports, they offer some great foods and their beer is amazing. You can play pool, or sit and have a nice after work drink. you don't need to dress up and it doesn't cost a fortune! I also LOVE Irish pubs..can't go wrong there.

When designing a bar you can't underestimate the spending power of the lonely, single male. They keep my bar full and basically pay the bills. The key to maintaining that clientele is making your place comfortable for women. Lady's night drink specials tend to attract the wrong crowd, but if you can take care of your female customers (a few free drinks here and there, a round of shooters for the table) then the dudes will keep coming, and they might as well be signing their paychecks over to you. Maybe you shooed think to open a disco-bar? You shooed do more rooms isolated phonic with differed types of music, pop rock,dance,etc....You shooed have some dancing girls, but not strippers just dance, for maintain the redeem.....Have success!!!
