For economy definately Emirates. It was a revelation, long haul economy does not need to be dire experience you need to dope yourself up to get through.

For business class KLM, however there is always a risk you end up code sharing on a NWA flight. How can such a good airline and such a bad airline hook up? It is like a bad marriage neither can walk away from.

First class, well the worlds your oyster. JAL is awesome, and Singapore Airlines. Asian airlines seem to have the service ethos that makes first class great.

Least favourite. Any american airline, they gave up on service decades ago, and then wonder why people air rage. At least easyjet and ryanair don't pretend to be good.

Emirates by a mile.

I fly at least 20 times a year including a lot of long haul which is where you really see the diffrence in good service.
Some of the airlines can hide the short comings over a couple of hours but make it ten and you get to see all the cracks appear.

Emirates business class has just been voted the best and i used it for a run to Dubai a few months ago, it made the journey very enjoyable which is a miracle when you spend as much time flying as i do.

It's not just about being comfortable, good food, hassle free but more about the company going that extra mile and especially how they deal with problems.

Etihad Airways - based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Why? They state that they treat their passengers like 'guests'. Many companies say similar things, but Etihad actually lives up to it. The facilities aboard their flights are awesome, but the really nice part is their staff.

In other airlines I've travelled by, you get the feeling you're a burden on the ground and cabin crew. Etihad staff appear to be genuinely willing to serve and help. So the human aspect of it is what makes it the best for me.

Singapore Airlines are great... excellent service.. excellent inflight entertainment and excellent comfort. I use them regularly.

Am travelling with Emirates in May so good to see they have some good reviews also! I am giving them a go because of they are the most direct airline to my destination!

Austrian Airlines is surprisingly good. Especially for families.

BA is the worst - they don't fly, they coast. Political correctness in motion. Ask anything on BA (like a blanket for example) and you get "Sorry sir, we can't do that because someone might get injured...." And about 90% of their flights are late.

Love Cathay Pacific, United, Aloha and Thai

Hope I never have the misfortune to travel British Airways ever again...

Kenya Airways gets vote for novelty factor, shared plane with 10 chickens, 3 goats a small pig an entire market of veg and several large masai in full tribal dress.... not forgetting of course the lizard and the mosquitos
