When a person is paired wiyh a guide dog a pen is built in their back garden. The dogs are trained not to go when out on walks and to go only in the pen in the garden, so that it can easily be cleaned and not stood in.
Hope that helps.

I don't know. But I have to tell you - one time while I was attending a university, I was driving through the little college town on my way to class. I was stopped as the light turned red, and I noticed a guide dog and owner start to cross the street. The dog actually walked the blind guy out in front of a car. The car knocked both the blind guy and the dog over. They weren't hurt too bad, but it was the most incredible thing I ever saw.

No, Guide Dogs are trained to "go" on command, so their owners can take them to a particular spot to poo. Not all Guide Dog owners are 100% blind many have some sight & are perfectly able to clean up after their dogs & also to groom them.

Any dog can be trained to use a certain spot or go on command, and then you just slip a plastic bag over your hand and pick it up. Turn the bag inside out and tie it shut, job done. Blind owners pick up after their dog, its part of their training.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/SIjnC

For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.

What an EXCELLENT question! Never THOUGHT about it, if the truth is known, but, I will ask a friend of mine, - who is BLIND, and HAS a guide dog, - then, let you KNOW the answer!

Guide dogs are trained before they are taken to the people who needs them. Guide dogs and blind people are matched according to what they need. So I dont think that is any problem...

guide dogs have carers themselves who take them for exercise thorughout the day for runs etc. They are trained to go to the toliet on command and this is how it is done

Interesting question!
But I guess they are toilet trained. Their job is to lead the blind to their destination. And what happens after that, beats me!
