If I don't believe in God, why does it matter? You can wear my butt for a hat if you want to, after I'm dead. What am I gonna care?

what would the leather factory do with the bodies ? what did Man do with the dead bodies before religion appeared ? Ancient Egyptians, for example, preserved the body because their belief system states that after the body dies it undergoes evaluation, to see if it had done more good or more bad during its life on Earth, the dead will be judged, have their hearts weighed and depending will be cursed or allowed passage to the afterlife. They also during a certain period of time state that God is one and that God is light.

As long as you are a human being living on Earth, respect of one another is crucial, alive or dead. A criminal's dead body should be treated with respect just as any's. As how one wishes to rest in peace is not much a personal matter. Aren't we all affected by the ideologies we belong to ?

If Allah had stated all bodies should be burned, we all Muslims, would have all ended up burning. But Allah saves that for punishment :)

And you do know that the majority of Muslims, and that does not exclude you or me, selon the book. Because being free of all sin is impossible, will burn for their mistakes.
And then sent to Heaven. And whatever happens to the body has no value. God will reconstruct it. So don't worry :)))

If Man kept to his own business instead of being preoccupied by the other, leaving these matters to God; instead of placing himself in God's shoes..judging and sentencing people..Earth would have been a better place.

It is not a problem for me. Funerals are for the living, not for the dead. Whatever the people still living figure they want to do with my dead carcase is up to them. I would be dead, it is not as if I was going to be hurt by any of those dispoasal methods.
I was thinking that some medical school or maybe that FBI dead body farm where they study the forensics of decay could use it.
I don't think burial would be a good idea considering the cost of a plot nowadays. I would prefer to see the money spent on proper education for the grandchildren.

Buried i guess, or else put on a raft, pushed out into a large body of water, and lit on fire with flaming arrows!
Fundamentally i dont really mind what happens, after all i wont exist anymore so why should i? The only reason i would ever think about it is to give my family some form of connection with the person i once was, like a grave to visit.

Very juvenile options to this question. How old are you?

i have a livivg will. I'm a donor--whateer is needed. No tubes for me, causing unnecessary expense. My corpse will go to medical research.
That's only decent. Why let rot what could help others? That is immoral. And no decent person needs a carrot in front of their nose and a whip at their back to behave morally.

I'm an atheist. My concern is with morality, not superstition.

Your bigotry and fear are showing. ;)

I thought your god was only interested in your immortal soul, so what's the big deal with YOUR body? So long as mine is tidied up out of the way and the cat doesn't get a chance to pick at it, I don't really care. I'll probably either go for cremation, which is hygienic, or a green burial.

I don't think it matters what happens to my body after I die. I would leave that decision up to my family as they are the ones who my death and funeral will impact on. How the dead are treated isn't based on a belief or not in an afterlife.
