No, not in all parts of the world. Malaria has been eradicated from many developed countries with temperate climates. However, the disease remains a major health problem in many developing countries, in tropical and subtropical parts of the world. An eradication campaign was started in the 1950s, but it failed globally because of problems including the resistance of mosquitoes to insecticides used to kill them, the resistance of malaria parasites to drugs used to treat them, and administrative issues. In addition, the eradication campaign never involved most of Africa, where malaria is the most common.

The 400 million people who died of malaria last year would probably beg to differ with you.
Eradicated??? Hahaha. Sadly, no. Although it has all but been eradicated from first world countries, malaria remains a serious threat throughout the rest of the world.

No, malaria has never been eradicated in India. Every year millions of people suffer from this disease and many succumb at last. As long as we fail to eradicate mosqitoes, malaria will frighten us.

Nope it was not entirely wiped out. There are still parts of the world such as in Africa that continue to have issues with malaria, and yes sometimes outbreaks can occur in this country. One of the last ones occurred in FL (learned that from a PBS special on the subject that aired about a year ago).

a number of many years in the past, there grew to become into an attempt to get rid of malaria. those efforts based around using the pesticide DDT. DDT grew to become into very useful at killing the mosquito that serves as a vector for the sickness. With the mosquito killed off, malaria might have been especially much eradicated. at the same time as this grew to become right into a good plan in concept, the mosquitos more desirable and more desirable a resistance to DDT rendering the pesticide quite often ineffective in removing the sickness wearing bugs. Malaria remains a topic, enormously in coming up countries the place lines of the sickness are coming up resistance to the extra reasonably-priced extra definitely availible remedies such as Chloroquine, and useful drugs are too costly to be extensively availible.
