I often feel like I cannot understand what's going on aaround me or I cannot think properly, though I really can. The truth is that I feel like that only when I think about it, and the problem- I think about it all the time. I belive that I am experiencing cognitive distortion. I'm not sure how I got to it -I once had a bad day, and because of the distress, I felt like I couldn't study. From there it went to my believing that I couldn't understand what's going on around me, though I really could. I just don't understand how that feeling, though completely false, could seem so real whenever I think about it. Please explain this to me. I know it's all in my mind. Please tell me how I can cognitively restructurize.(cognitve restructuring). Please tell me this as I feel like I'm in a nutshell, not allowed to live my normal happy life because of this.

Seriously, do you think you can overcome such a problem in a place like this ? Even If a pro gives you a good answer, you can't improvise the sequels and so on. This question should be answered in real life , eyes to eyes, not on the web.

You have lost your self confidence for some reason, and you have conviced yourself that you can't do this, or understand that, that is like when someone has been taking medication, then all of a sudden they can not swallow the med's. It is cause they have conviced themself that they can't, and they have to realize that they can, and they will. In the Mental Health, you will find that there are word that are't used much. People get caught up on can't, no such thing , cause you can, if you try, should, shouldn't, won't , but, and a lot more, i think you really just need to realize, which it sounds like you do , that you can, and just keep telling yourself that and you will be back to the way you were. and i need to agree with the person before me, it is better to talk to someone eye to eye about this. The eyes tell a lot about what is going on with a person, and how they are feeling.

It's time to seek professional help. Start with your doctor, and ask to be referred to someone experienced in cognitive distortion and restructuring. Realise that you have adopted a self limiting belief system, and that YOU CAN CHOOSE TO CHANGE IT! Hypnotherapy may help.
